Andrew Davies to return?

Andrew Davies to return?

I cant believe hes all of a sudden taking the blame for us almost missing the play offs.

Hows about the lack of a midfield people.

Davies never had a chance, young, unfit player slotting in. How many people have recently said putting in Trotman or Nolan with SSL would be a disaster because of a lack of experience to justify Irvines decision to play Chilvers? isnt that exactly what Davies had to do, and with a misfiring midfield in front of him as well, and having just recovered from an injury.

You were not there,i was.

He did exactly the same, passing back without looking up,earlier in the game and got away with it as Lonergan was alert to the intentions of Earnshaw who'd read what that idiot Davies was about to do.🙁

Sadly for PNE,Davies didn't learn and it cost us the 2nd time.🙁

You really had to be there to view the full picture.

As someone else said,i'd rather play with 10 men than have this half a brain playing for us.

Bollocks Woolley I watched the replays over and over again, they were as much to blame as each other, with most of the blame leaning on Lonergan recklessly charging out when there was no apparent danger, he should have stayed in his area giving Davies the easy option of knocking it back. There was also a serious miscommunication like this in his first game against Norwich at Deepdale where he shepherded the ball back for Lonergan to collect, only to realise Lonergan wasn't coming, an error we saw many times early last year when Mawene would try and do the same thing, he bollocked Lonergan a few times for it.

They were both to blame, absolving your hero is ludicrous.

1) He,Lonergan,is not my hero. Brian Mooney was and still is,mine.

2) Lonergan came out to try and cut out Earnshaw who'd been alert enough to see that Davies wasn't looking as he fucked up his back pass. The 1st time,Lonergan cleared the ball, the 2nd time,Earnshaw was that bit quicker and scored. It beggars belief that that dozy fucker Davies hadn't learnt from his previous error in the game. No wonder Lonergan lost his radge and Davies stood there, head bowed in shame. Not one team mate consoled Davies...i wonder why?

Seriously, the TV doesn't show the full picture of play (obviously) which includes Earnshaw lurking off picture in the build up to Davies' 2nd moment of buffoonery.

Like i said,i was there. I wouldn't have the cheek to try and tell you how the dogs ran at Cleator Moor, would i? 😉

Never happened when Davies wasn't in the team. St Ledger / Mawene / Chilvers / Jones / Nolan / Davidson have coped OK, so stop blaming Lonergan for everything and get a grip.

If you had video analasys you would.

Lonergan was as much to blame, if not moreso, than Davies.

He was fucking gash like, I think taking the rap for that incident fucked him completely.

It happened many times last season where Lonergan and the defenders had misunderstandings, specifically when defenders wanted him to come for the ball and he didn't. 🙄

So far so good this season Shaky (oops forgot your on TV and mates rates re what happened during a game) until November. The fuck ups this season have been down to the defenders and Mellor, Lonners has looked good coming for crosses, has handled the ball very well and seems to have improved greatly on last years performances.

This is cool. We've had a reasonable start to the season so lets have an argument about who was to blame for us not achieving something we achieved anyway.

Passes the time 🙄

I'm glad to hear it, but will be happier when I can judge for myself, most on this forum thank the ability to perform a triple somersault whilst tipping a simple catch over the bar is the sole criteria for being a good keeper. 😱

Like you say, when you can see for yourself🙄 but hey why not drag up more shite from last season to keep the pot boiling!!! the old gymnastic stuff is getting a bit long in the tooth now, even your future SIL has stopped this kind of reporting😱

I never dragged it up, it's a thread about Davies, inevitably somebody brought up the Forest incident, which was as much Lonergans fault as his, it was a monumental fuck up by the pair of them, but the BFB absolved the local boy and poured massive scorn on the loanee. 😱

good point, but the pathetic attempts to deflect the blame from where it actually lies could see us doomed to repeat the same mistakes.

If Irvine or the club think Andrew Daveis derailed our season they are wrong and should look a little closer to home about not getting in decent midfield cover a bit sooner.

Ballocks.

At the time I quoted a Forest fan who said Lonergan had shouted and Davies ignored him. You acknowledge this at the time but now completely ignore this fact.

Lonergan didn't madly rush out at all. Davies dithered and then panicked. He should first have simply passed it back but didn't and then he should have left the ball for Lonergan to clear but didn't.

Davies had an ok game against Norwich at home but in all the other games he was a liability. Although I think he would do far better if he was playing alongside an experienced defender.

Davies was also a crock, went off twice injured in 5 games.

Absolutely.

Interesting that the blind faithers almost to a man slate Davies (he wasn't that bad at all IMHO), yet refuse to criticise Irvine for signing and selecting him.

Typical.

IMO selecting him ahead of Mawene at Sothampton was a major reason we were so awful in the first half.

Have you any statistics to back up your opinion?

Your recollection of the incident differs from mine, let's leave it at that.

They were both to blame.

we lost three drew one and won one with him in the side.

The 2 games we took points from we did so at home. the 3 games we lost were away games.

Now as im sure you are aware, losing away games didnt start and end with Davies coming into the team.

Its also worth noting that in the palace and sheff wed games chaplow was injured (and halfway through the forest game as well), and our record without him last season was abysmal, whether davies was there or not.

As you know LiY, its one thing quoting stats, but they are only ever a guide and without a bit or perspective they can be incredibly misleading.

Im not saying Davies was the second coming, just that he wasnt the antichrist.

Who gives a monkeys fuck whose fault it was. It was last season ffs. Why can't we all just look forward instead of going over old ground.

erm, im not sure if you've noticed, but its a thread about him possibly coming back, what do you expect it to be about?
