Big Screen

Big Screen

Our so-called big screen is a total embarrassment! It's the worst that I have seen at any league or non league ground. Considering that it's a Preston company that makes them it's a disgrace. Surely advertising would help pay for the initial outlay. At the very least they could be contacting Everton to buy theirs as they are moving to their new ground at the end of the season,

I wish I had as much passion about something as you do for the screen.

It could obviously be better, but to call it a 'total embarrassment' and a 'disgrace' is probably stretching it a bit.

I sit in the middle of the Finney and have no issues with it. A modern alternative in the corners would be great, but it's hardly top of the priority list.

I always thought that two big screens in two corners of Deepdale below the floodlights would be decent, or it’s probably not practical, definitely something PNE should look into.

If you added one in between the away end and the Invincible stand and one in between the Finney stand and the Town End, I’m sure there is a way.

There is a way to have a new big screen, or two new big screens in opposite corners. And to finish the pavilion, it comes down to capital and a long-term strategy.

I don't mind the Invincibles now they've covered the gaps up. Am I right in saying that they don't want to finish it for some sort of financial reason? tax reasons?? Could well be nonsense.

A screen in opposite corners would be nice. But what's on the pitch is more important and so is sorting out the academy. Priorities.

If anyone has been to Spurs new stadium, unsurprisingly it really puts into perspective just how small and rubbish ours is.

They've got a screen 3-4 times the size of ours in every corner. I assume this will have something to do with the NFL contract they have as it was really handy for keeping up with the game when I went for that.

I think we could definitely put a screen and scoreboard in the corner of the Finney/Kop. Would look a lot better.

I get that and actually agree. Although, a long term strategy, utilising the corporate spaces (unfinished) could create premium revenue. As could improving the match day experience as a whole. This could mean money into the team.

I'm not sure we should compare Deepdale to a brand new £1.2 billion stadium.

We're in absolutely different stratospheres though so you can't really compare.

They probably have the best stadium in the world, or atleast one of. I went to watch the Copa America at Allegiant Stadium in the summer and that was absolutely immense. We managed to get into the Twitch Lounge and it was a surreal experience - everything is very USA though.

But you are right. The experience of going to watch that match was better than anything I have had before. It became a proper day out rather than just a game (if that makes sense). But we can't and will never compete with that financially so we need to settle for what we have.

More issues on the playing staff than having a new TV. I'd also be looking at sorting the pitch out first too.

I'm not sure that I can ever be really happy until we have rooftop hot tubs.

Don't worry chaps definitely not suggesting we should be competing with that. Just reflecting on how much of an eye opener it was attending an event there.

Agreed I would definitely sooner see investment in the pitch and of course the playing staff. But I don't think it would take too much effort or investment to improve some parts of the infrastructure at the stadium. As we've seen though, those in charge are reluctant to do so.

Yep, I absolutely agree with that. The match day experience could be far better than it is.

Even a lick of paint in the concourse to make it a little less dreary would make a difference.

I'd really like us to get Spurs away in a cup competition at some point, just to see that stadium. It does look superb.

A while since I have been at our place now but the problem with having bigger screens positioned in the same way as the one in place now on the Kop is that if they were much taller their lower edge might come down so far that it would start blocking the view of the pitch of people in the upper levels of the seating. Also because each of the four stands actually meet each other to give a nice enclosed feeling to the ground there isn't the sort of gap that could be filled by a really big screen. Perhaps the answer is would just be to have more screens of the same size positioned in the same way. Whatever what would be great would be for the screen when not showing match action to show an image of the club crest - an electronic version of the wooden one thar used to adorn the Pavilion Paddock. Imagine something like that shining out over the pitch.

The one that replaced the clock that was (allegedly) sold to fund the signing of Dave Sneddon😉

Our stadium and facilities are league 2 level. It’s only its history that stops fans from complaining about it.

I went to Brunton Park in September and its fanzone and club shop embarrasses anything we have. This is a stadium that only has 3 stands, and even they are ahead of us
