True, Hemmings obviously still hasn't realised his terrible mistake.

You forget that Irvine managed Wednesday in League One, where they were the biggest club in that division as proven by Megson's (a manager I don't even rate!) record there. But even Irvine somehow managed to cock that up. Davies record is 100% in the Championship, seeing him reach the play offs in every single season. Irvine has made it once. You were saying?
Shaky if your mrs was a good cook and mother ,but played up behind your back .Would you have her back ?
Given we're a division lower now I suspect he probably has 😉
Jesus wept, you blind faithers are unbelievable.
I remember going to away games expecting to win under Davies. Unfortunately he made some of you cry when he left, and you can't forgive and forget.
Managers leave clubs - FACT.
What I do remember is his record in charge of Preston - a points per game average of 1.68, bettered only in the history of the club by David Moyes (at mainly a lower level).
In his 101 games in charge at Deepdale, Preston lost only 21 times - which is a remarkable record.
Jesus Christ. You dense twat. Next you'll use the same stats to show that Derek Shaw was our best Chairman in 40 years.

Irvine's only full season in the Championship yielded a play-off place so comparing like-with-like it matches up with Davies. Let's not forget in the first 6 months at Deepdale he took a side looking doomed to relegation to a midtable finish and safety with games to spare - that was pretty much play-off form in itself.
It's clear that on here Davies is idolised while Irvine is slated but when you actually look at their overall records, the difference in terms of average points is marginal and when it comes to who won the highest percentage of games, Irvine actually has the better record of the two. It's interesting how the PNE Online view seems to contrast with the majority of the fanbase though, given Davies has been the pantomime villain on his Deepdale returns while Irvine was cheered to the rafters.
Blly davis not only leave us at a drop of a hat,he also took all his back room shaff as well.how can anybody considering letting that set of judas bastxxds and have a second chance and take charge again must be off there heads,
Billy Davies' overall managerial record sees him have a win ratio of 40.57%. Alan Irvine's win ratio from results at PNE and Sheff Wed combined is 40.59%. As you say, Billy Davies has a remarkable record in management. Shame it isn't as good as Alan Irvine though.
As you well know it isn't win ratio that the league tables are categorised by........it is the number of points that matters, and I can tell you now that Irvine's pts per game haul was nowhere near as good as Billy Davies' record, but you probably know that, don't you?
You are just being very selective in your findings..........I guess you wouldn't like to discuss Irvine's winn ratio over his last 14 games in charge at Deepdale would you? I mean, if we are going to be selective with our findings, why not mention the fact that we only won once during his last 14 league games in charge, I think that equates to a win ratio of 7.14% over what was in effect almost one third of a season.
That's why Irvine got the boot or had you forgotten?
Well no. It's a football forum and such demonstrates a huge breadth of opinion.
I do find it absolutely fucking staggering though that some people are against this. Apart from a fluky play off season under Irvine and a decent start from Simpson after Billy left we've been absolutely fucking dire since then. How people aren't so sick of it they want back one of our greatest ever managers is beyond me.
It's not even like he's coming back "past it". Not been out of football long, had a decent record at Forest, certainly has a point to prove.
Personally, I see this as the second coming of one of the best managers we've ever had. How Sean O Driscoll or Graham Alexander or Dave Jones can be seen as more favourable by some is beyond me!
I am so bored

If Davies gets the job, it means I've watched my last PNE match for a while. Bore draws and smash and grab 1-0 wins. Boring.
You need to read more of Albertan's stats then.
