Billy Davies v The rest

Billy Davies v The rest

I guess you wouldn't like to discuss Irvine's win ratio over his last 14 games in charge at Deepdale would you? I mean, if we are going to be selective with our findings, why not mention the fact that we only won twice during his last 14 league games in charge, I think that equates to a win ratio of 14.28% over what was in effect almost one third of a season.

But Davies had an even worse run - he just wasn't fired for it.

In his only full season with us we didn't win a home game until November and won on 3 of the first 17 games.

Irvine was fired for 29 points from 23 games, Davies stayed with 33 points from 23 games, a very subtle difference.

Either way, you can't use stats to show the damage Davies did to this club when he left, nor the clouds he's left other clubs under.

Derek Shaw was the bestest chairman. The stats prove it apparently. We need to get him back to team up with Davies.
Funniest post I've seen in ages. The fact the manager did well, despite the chairman is the real miracle.

Yes, apparently that is what happened at all of Davies clubs. He was brilliant and worked miracles despite the chairman at PNE, Derby and Forest. Are you Davies's solictor?

Oor Billy, who art in exile
Hallowed be thy game
Thy play-offs come
In League One, as it was in the Championship
Bring us this way our surge ahead
And forgive us our bad passes
As we forgive those who conspired* against us
And lead us hot into promotion
Then deliver us oor Wee Bill
For thine is the kingdom
The Premiership and the glory
For ev.... maybe one season

Amen

Nope, just someone who didn't think Shaw was a good chairman or suck up to him at every opportunity unlike someone I could mention. Pathetic really. He's gone, get over it.

Oooh you narky child. Sounds like you are the one who needs to get over things. I'm just pointing out that Davies has had problems with every chairman he has worked with.

You are right, he probably did upset a few big time Charlies but hey, he put smiles on the faces of thousands so, the majority win😛😉

Billy will get you results, the stats suggest but don't prove it. He will fall out with the chairman, history suggests but does not prove it.
When Billy was with us previously he showed no interest in the youth and disbanded the reserves whilst nearly getting us to the promised land. In failing to get us there whilst not building for the future, then compounding things by leaving in the way he did with his backroom staff, he left a situation from which we have not recovered. If we employ him again it should be with eyes wide open and under strict controls! This decision is vital, if we continue to make the wrong decisions we might have to settle for less than mediocrity for a decade or two.
Albertan, stats only tell you so much, you always have to look behind them.

Excellent post.

I'd love to hear Billy answer the interview question : " So , Mr Davies what were the mistakes you made when you were first here? "

Leaving

And if I had not thrown a strop, then with Trevor's wedge, I would have taken this club to the Premier League. We would have consolidated our position in that league. That top tier on the Invincibles Stand would have been built. We could have gates in excess of 25,000 on average. The fans would have had an absolute ball and they would made me God.😀😀😉

Billy will say at some point if he gets the job that, "the chairman has moved the goalposts and its only common courtesy that you let me speak to other clubs".

Joking apart My opinion is, if we employ him it will all end in tears. He is unpredictable, he is unstable, he is insecure, he trust no fucker and in any industry you cannot employ a person with those charteristics.

The new chairman when he came in at Derby saw right not just through him but all his cronies as well and sacked the lot of them in within weeks of taking over.

I cannot believe that we want to employ this person, the person most people booed when he came back with other clubs. Even with the best team we've had in over 50 years he still blew it on two occasion West Ham final Leeds 2nd leg play offs.

He's over rated and he's trouble
