Matchday Thread Birmingham City v PNE | 13.10.26 | KO:8PM | Championship

I'd drop some players and put a couple of our youngsters in. Its a risk but no risk no reward. I remember Steve Doyle being in the first team at 16 and being our best player. If they are good enough.. they are old enough. This set of players need to know that their days of drawing good money are very much on the line. Its an opportunity for someone.
None of them are good enough any that have gone out on loan are only able to get loans with non league clubs. Not even div2 clubs are interested in them.

Anthony Martial is without a club and could do a job in the championship , wages could be an issue though it could be sold as a short term deal to the January window to put him in the marketplace for struggling prem clubs. Bit of a Jekyll & Hyde but a lethal finisher on his day. My United friends say he was never really played in his best position at Old Trafford.

People are massively overstating how apparently poor he's been.

By far been the most creative player in our side this season, despite our lack of any pace or ability up front.

Don't get me wrong, he's not hit the heights of last season, and I worry about his fitness, but the idea that he suddenly offers nothing is the usual overreaction.
In the first half last night I lost track of how many times he gave the ball away under no pressure. I agree he's not been as bad as made out overall this season but that was by far his worst performance of the season.

If club was going to (relatively) break the bank for a player they should have thoroughly researched his character/lifestyle etc. They also had him here last season.

So, if this suggestion is true, you can absolutely blame the club for either not being aware or not addressing the issue.

Of course I don't know whether it's true or not!

Possibly - if the Riddler puts a ballon d’or clause in the contract.

Your first two points have kind of just explained why it isn't an overreaction, Hunter?

Do your research, was last seen playing for Monterry in Mexico and wants to return to the Prem (no chance unless he rebuilds his reputation) same league we got Vukcevic from in case you didn't know. Of course as I said in my original post, the sticking point for these type of players is wages over whether they want to play football. If they want to play football wages don't have to be an issue, if wages are an issue then the football contribution probably isn't going to be there anyway, so move on but the club should ALWAYS be trying to punch above it's weight.

Oh my God.

I thought the previous post was satire/sarcasm.

Was on 19k a week at Monterrey (lower mid table mexican league) without a club, wants to get back in English football, 30 years old, definitely attainable, would be available for half that if he's hungry to play.
End of season deal with January window release clause if it doesn't work out.
Anyone got any other quality free agent forwards to suggest that aren't past it/ injured? Because it's pretty clear we need someone and quick. Hear theres a guy at Genoa who seems handy, scored 3 in 5 appearances!

Anybody would be an improvement on the unfit bunch we have at present. I would play the academy until the first team squad have the required fitness levels to complete in the championship.
