Well he's literally also saved us more points than he's cost us. Nobody is immune from having a bad game, he's got plenty of credit left in the bank. No doubt about it.
We can excuse Dan a bad game but Lindsey who certainly needs a change of club. Credit to Bolton who did most things right.

Obviously, the reaction to LL putting the last gasp chance over the bar was emotional.
But I would say that if that same chance fell to a thousand different Championship players, it would get scored no more than 1 in 3 times. (maybe 1 in 4 or even 1 in 5). Two touches in front of him, the second loopily taking the pace off the ball - left him needing to generate power and direction to get it past the big keeper in front of him.
Looks easy - but that definitely gets missed more often than not.
Its a free header
If he gets himself over the ball, any connection an its in.
Instead, he does what he's done many times in the past

My take on today-
We really have to hope the laws are changed to allow substitutions before 60 minutes.
We’re a week nearer Hecky being able to get Potts back in the squad.
Is it the law that a new owner brings his own manager with him 🤞

It was a great header if it had been in our box and he was trying to clear the ball but that was an easy chance and he didn't need to generate great power just direct it under the bar.

I suppose that, in real life, even the best strikers miss about half of their "easy chances" And I would estimate that the best striker in the country would have missed that, approx half the time.

Depends on your definition of an "easy" chance of course - but imo, that today was something like a 1 in 4 chance.

Is it the law that a new owner brings his own manager with him 🤞 - I asked AI for you, it told me to shut the Fuck up, Hecky is here for the long run.

That's right, it's the fans fault....so predictable Doyler
Never suggested that but if you want some silly insight you can always rely on the MDT of PNE Online.

A rational take I imagine would be something like: Yes, strange to start Pol over Offiah against a 1v1 winger. Definitely contributed somewhat to a poor first half. But equally, we have seen Pol defend players well 1v1 in the past, and it’s fair to expect him to do better himself.

Five clear cut chances vs one for Bolton. A manager’s influence is large, but ultimately he cannot do anything about Iversen’s strange goalkeeping in the first half, or Liam Lindsay missing two sitters in the last five minutes.

If he keeps refusing to play Offiah from the start then I’ll be pretty fuming, though. I’ve also joined many fans on here in openly questioning our decision to not buy a new CB, which imo will cost us.

So you think Harland misses that chance 50% of the time? No point in further discussion.

As shite as that was I’m confident it will be the worst 11 we put out this season, so things should only improve.

Iversen was uncharacteristically poor, Pol will hopefully never start again and Osmajic will be benched soon. As bad as the three of Storey, Lindsay and Hughes are I don’t think they were to blame today and in any event Lindsay will be back on the bench soon.
I wish I shared your confidence! That said, I accept the two latest signings arrived too late, but hope they're on the starting sheet as a given.

Two myths can be removed, Lindsay is not good against big strikers and Osmajic is not a good finisher.

This sounds confusing, maybe you could help me.

I was under the impression the manager made a substitution at half time just last week.

Against WBA, just four games from the end of last season, he made a substitution at half time.

So I think you’re the confused one avtually, not me.

Erabi, love him already. 2 in 2 games, when was the last time we had such a prolific goal scorer. Has to start every game for me. Oozes confidence and just looks like he wants it:

This time last season.

Osmajic had one shot well saved.

Obviously he made a mistake for his other chance, trying to pass, but that doesn’t make him a bad finisher. Realistically, he’s just a bit thick and should try and keep everything as simple as possible.

A good finisher does not pass the ball when one on one with the keeper

Wrong team to start with, Lindsey, Hughes and Storey all playing, what, far too late with subs, should have been at HT. Mr Negative in charge,

Only good performanced were from Erabi and Leroy who should have come on at half time
Very disappointed with Lang and Burgaus(so).
2 bad decisions by Osmajic and 2 bad misses by Lindsay
Osmanic offside far too much
At least we won’t see Valentin starting again whilst Clarke remains fit. Run ragged by Gale.

Just got back, any team in 2026 who has any ambition cannot have Liam Lindsey in the squad. Every dead ball we had they marked everyone apart from LL, who would then get the ball passsd to him AXA the free man, then they’d pick him off.
