Matchday Thread Bristol City vs PNE | 04.01.26 | KO:3PM
My Dad's 93 and a lifelong PNE supporter, Tom Finney and all that.
Obviously not seen us in the top flight for 60 years.
COYW.

Just been checking out the Bristol City forum. Nearly all comments about PNE were complimentary, they especially noted the energy, fitness and desire of all the North End players.
If an opposition bunch of fans are thinking, and writing, this sort of stuff then we must have something special going on.

Disagree.2 week break coming at worst time!
After the hectic last 2 or 3 weeks, these lads deserve a breather and rest for the Wigan game.
Play the fringe players who need minutes and involve Mawené, Nelson, etc off the bench.

Agreed. Not Nelson though, otherwise he won’t get loaned outDisagree.

I think we all hope so but this is PNE who always let us down in the end.Could 2026 finally be our year? It couldn’t have started any bloody better!
Are you going to be more positive in the PL now?.😜
Forgot about that rule.Agreed. Not Nelson though, otherwise he won’t get loaned out

Annoyingly a lot of the other results didn't go our way but that just makes this win all the more important. Didn't watch it so don't know how well everyone did but I'm pleased to see positive comments about Mads. If he keeps proving doubters like me wrong, all the better for us.

+11 goal difference- 3rd best in the league.
25 goals against- 3rd best in league.
20 points from Away games- 2nd best in league.
Lost only 5 games all season.
How many times have we had a positive goal difference since we got promoted back to the championship?

As you say, they’ve been letting me down for the 55 years I’ve been watching them, so it’s no wonder I’m a glass half empty guy when it comes to the prediction league 🤣I think we all hope so but this is PNE who always let us down in the end.

Yeah but one of the postponed games was hull v Watford, so one or both of them would have dropped points. 6-8 points from the next four games would keep us firmly in the mix.Annoyingly a lot of the other results didn't go our way but that just makes this win all the more important. What a result. First win there since 2018. Great performance from all the lads. Fully deserved win. Could've scored more if the right passes were made and good touches happened, so the stats don't particularly do it justice.
Mental though that we're 26 games in and there's only 3 points between us in 4th and 9th place.
Hopefully a couple of wins at home over the next two then see what we can get in the two tough away games. But on our day, we're a game for anyone, especially against these kind of teams where there is the space in behind, so certainly not outside the realms of possibility that we get some points from those two away games against Middlesbrough and Ipswich.
