Can't over state how great Thompson was in that first half. Came in and absolutely asserted himself in midfield.

People must fucking hate playing us, bitten by Osmajic, man handled by Jebbo, McCann and Thompson snapping at everything in midfield, Dobbin showing you his heels up front. Bunch of giants at the back.

We are a fucking brilliant team. I cannot believe we are here. Every transfer move has worked.

Probably the best team performance of the season so far 🙏 everyone did their jobs only for a fifteen minute spell in the first half did we look under pressure, yes we had to defend deep in the last fifteen but they hardly looked like scoring.
The tactics worked perfectly today so credit to both the management team as well as the players .Dare I start to dream , need Ando to bring me back down to earth . Come on Ando then but only after I’ve had a nice bottle of the red stuff .😜👍

I’ve commented that Mads played well when he came on , I’d love to see more of it.

Unfortunately it’s the first time this season he has played well.

His performances up to now have been somewhat lacking as a lot of people have observed.

As a player it’s about what you do, not what you possibly could do.

Disagree. He’s not done anything wrong this season, he’s had a few good cameos and scored a couple of very good goals.

Before today, his goals per 90 was identical to Dobbin’s.

I thought he looked after the ball brilliantly today when he came on and made some great passes.

I honestly think people still see him as lazy because he doesn’t sprint constantly for 90 minutes.

Disagree.

After the hectic last 2 or 3 weeks, these lads deserve a breather and rest for the Wigan game.

Play the fringe players who need minutes and involve Mawené, Nelson, etc off the bench.
Nah, don't let up, we're going for the double!
Seriously though it is tight in the top half and had we lost today we would be 9th. Lot more twists and turns to come.

Result of the season so far without a doubt. Everyone played their part - Dobbin was outstanding in the first half and Devine was influential throughout so much so that you could easily miss that Storey did not put a foot wrong at any point. Now got nearly two weeks to the next league match but the one in between is still important.
Well said.

Not sure about this. You need someone who can settle in and make an immediate impact, a Kiefer Moore type but few players around like him.

I think we are if we’re fortunate with injuries.

I also think we’ll continue improving as a team the more time Heckingbottom and the coaches spend with them.

What a great all round performance. I don’t think many posters on here would have Potts and Thompson in their first choice eleven but they played very well in the first half and were at the heart of all North End’s best moments. Dobbins electric pace was a constant threat but Osmajic just couldn’t get into the game. Mads’ introduction for the last 20 minutes turned out to be a masterstroke as his unpredictability caused City no end of problems. I thought Offiah looked a bit off today but Storey, Hughes and Lewis were superb. Whiteman and Devine ran the midfield with Thompson and Ali McCann was the perfect substitute in the latter stages to prevent Bristol City getting a toe hold in the match. A perfect performance and clean sheet in an impressive away 2-0 win.

Mad isn’t it. Before the loan signings I was convinced we were getting relegated and even after them I thought it was gonna be a tough season.

Can’t really overstate how big of an opportunity we have this season. The league is bang average, we’re genuinely in the best 5 or 6 teams in the league. Got to hope we can get lucky with fitness and we’ve got a real chance.

Good summary Dick but have to disagree about Offiah looking a bit off.

Mads and Jebbo linked up very well when they came on.

Absolutely huge 3 points that.

As frustrating as Mads has been this season he has had lots of his cameos with Smith as the man in front of him which isn't gonna work for either of their games.

Saying this whenever he's got a start he's underwhelmed
