Matchday Thread Bristol City vs PNE | 04.01.26 | KO:3PM

So buzzing for Storey, so many people slated and wrote him off year in and out, when the matter of fact was he just needed a bit of pace around him, and for the ball to not be constantly coming back at us due to us having awful ball retention for the last few years.

Very good championship defender who puts his heart into every game.

God forbid a defender is just a die hard blocker with strength, without having to be able to do a maradona and spray a 70 yard pass to feet.

I went to Bristol City in May for the last match of the season with us needing a point for survival and they needed a point to get in the playoffs. There was no difference in the teams and a neutral wouldn’t have known which was which. We’ve definitely improved with the players we’ve signed and so shouldn’t have been surprised that we’d beat them.

Took my red suporting scousewife yesterday and she was suprised and delighted at our team performance, enjoyed the game but the journey home was no fun with severe snow flurries in places.
I for one was worried when Riis came on but happy to see him have one of his typical crap performances, and the taunts were chuckle worthy "emill emill what's the score "

Yes it absolutely was. Excellent to a man today
Wore my blue & white bobble hat and scarf around the harbour last night felt so proud of the team.
We were excellent.
Just capped with a full flop on the harbour before the rattler back at 11.

Credit to the lads near me I was in stitches. Chant of season "you've been nobbed by The Nobbers🤣

Good morning from a white Over Wyre

Great win yesterday, Brizzle are not a bad side, was slightly mystified when they took Mehmeti off, lads a danger has the ability to beat players. However, that game was won off the pitch, the atmosphere among the home fans was flat, given they had won 5-0 in their last home game, would have expected them to be up for it but it wasn't.
Scoring early made it even quieter, from then on in, as long as we got a second we'd win that, a good team performance as previously mention Thompson is a good signing keeping him fit is the thing.
One final thing first went to Ashton Gate on 22/8/1987 two things happened following that game, following the 3-1 loss Jim Branagan never played again for us, after giving possibly one of the worse performances I have ever seen in a North End shirt and since then I have never lost in Bristol either at Ashton Gate, Eastville or the Memorial Ground, bit like the Bet 365 in Stoke never lost there either.

Couldnt care less about Lowe to be honest. The best way to get one over on him is by achieving what he couldn't - getting into the playoffs
I should agree but I don’t. Virtually every manager we’ve had since the first one I experienced to any degree - Catterick - I can understand what they were trying to do, the limitations imposed on them etc. Lowe is the one who I never took to from the beginning, who got worse the longer he went on, I could go on and on for hours about the bloke but won’t.

He used to look at us on his walk past with that smirk on his face game after game. I don’t want to see that for one last time after a defeat. In fact, to guarantee I don’t, I’m going to change seats.

I went to the game and just read what the Bristol manager said basically we won that game despite not knowing how we did it - that's out of order those players were brilliant front to back and should have been more than 1 goal up at half time - sore loser - " teams like preston"

Seems their fans know better than their manager in that case, because enough of them on their forum could see why.
