Confirmed Carabao Cup 1st Round Draw. (Huddersfield - Goodison Park)

I’m not so sure they’d give a stuff about this match. If they want to revisit Goodison Park, they can do so every other week and watch the Women’s team representing Everton.

When I watch the highlights of WSL large parts of Goodison looked cordoned off so interested how much of the ground is actually still useable for matchday as pretty much the crowds Everton Ladies get can just be housed in one stand.

Guessing they're expecting 10k or so who can be accommodated in two stands?

Was this the one?

Brilliant finish to a sublime day watching that. Love that video (from Lilywhites videos where it always looked like we were Brazil as the opposition never scored). A 14 year old York White is behind the goal on the Kop in a turquoise tracksuit, remember it like it was yesterday. Went to the away leg. Absolutely dog shite.

And now we’ve paid £6m for a player. Get in.

When Bellingham scored his second on Monday morning (I was deliriously tired) I actually compared his ability to be in the right place at the right time to Gary Swann. I didn’t mention that Swanny worked part time in insurance to make ends meet.

I’ve seen very few players over the last forty years who had Swanny’s ability to do that.

And he was that slow he often had to start his run during the previous attack.

They do actually have a licence for the top tiers but they have them covered to make the stadium look more full as they don't need that many seats.
And neither will we! Possibly a bigger crowd than if it was at Deepdale, but can't see it being much more than 10k. We could have just packed out somewhere like AFC Fylde to be honest, although I understand why Goodison has been chosen.
I doubt I'll go - was looking forward to a home game the day before we go away, and don't really fancy an hour each way plus petrol costs.

That’s the one, not our greatest ever team but some whole hearted players. Interesting how it takes 30 seconds from the award of the penalty to Joyce scoring and it amused how their centre half was thrown the shirt by Farnworth when he was sent off and sorted it out for the replacement keeper. Again, that whole process took around a minute.

I thought we’d lost on the night but we lost the second leg 3-1 to go out.

My only experience of Goodison is when I was very young. Can't remember the year but went there with my dad and uncle to watch Preston so must have been a cup game perhaps in the early 70's?.
Not much I remember other than a couple of scallies offering to "look after" my dad's car for a fee. My dad's initial reaction was no until my uncle who i think lived in Maghull at the time suggested it might be a false economy trying to save a quid or whatever the amount was at the time🤣
