You realise the owners off these smaller clubs keep backing the FFP and PSR. Most are fully aware they can’t sustain a long period challenging the so called big boys as when they get any decent players they get cherry picked. These clubs are happy having FFP and PSR as it stops a lot of promoted teams coming up and blowing hundreds of millions and staying up putting there place in jeopardy. They first aim every season is to stay up and anything else is a bonus and keeps the tv money rolling inWith the rules that have been put in place, the premier league is effectively a closed shop, realistically only four teams can win it (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea). Newcastle have not been able to break into that group despite being owner by PIF who have unlimited funds, Man City had the audacity to break into the group by cheating and will have the book thrown at them as a result. It could becoming increasingly apparent to owners of the other premier league clubs that there is no possibility of taking their club to the next leave. The premier league is at a cross roads, are the so called ‘big clubs’ going to allow genuine competition, if they aren’t then it’s likely other owners may come to the conclusion that it isn’t worth investing in the premier league and may look to sell up and invest elsewhere.

Yes agree, my response was a specific response to the issues in the premier league, the issue with parachute payments is a whole different discussion that also needs to be resolved; unless of course the so called ‘big’ clubs leave to form a super league, in which case there would be a substantial reduction in the money the premier league clubs receive. This would drastically reduce the difference between what the premier league and championship clubs receive m, meaning that there could be a significant reduction in, or possibly even the total abolition of parachute payments. You realise the owners off these smaller clubs keep backing the FFP and PSR. Depends on your level of pedantry. What's the lesser version of pelters if it's 3421 instead of 352?
Or 5221 instead of 532 to keep it accurate to the bit 😅
And also more likely how much it matters to you to get one over on @Bobbage
The rich get richer and the poor get shit on the way of the well named PremiershiTThe big clubs continue to get bigger; the rest of the pyramid in England & beyond just suffer the consequences of the owners, players & their agents greed.
Bosman and freedom of player movement; the vast sums that Sky etc are prepared to pay along with us the fans continuing to pay the exorbitant monthly subscriptions don’t help either. The IFR is not going to do anything to change the way money trickles down the leagues…..
