A well known and popular North ender is one thing, Jade Goody and the like another.

An obituary section is a good idea, however it would seem due to the sheer popularity of this bloke, this instance is not out of place on the main forum.

Which I think is the problem. For any PNE related ones it's hard not to have to put them in the main forum, as the reason people will know them is generally through PNE. Also in this tragic case the thread started whilst the bloke was still alive, you can't then move it across to a different section after that. If people don't know them, ignore the thread, but as it's impossible to guage who will or won't be 'well known' in general, out of respect it would be better to leave them in the main section IMO. It's only about 1 or 2 threads a month if even that thankfully.

But the poll is there for a reason so lets see how it ends up.

Totally agree. I do think that this case is more prominent than usual, just because of the manner in which it occurred and simply Dave personality.

Anyone who knew him would understand just how fanatical he was. One of my greatest memories at PNE was the Torquay game. Just got to Wembley and was dancing with Dave on the centre circle, his son sat on his shoulders!!

Had a pint with him at xmas, met him in the New Brit, all he did was chat about North End, with his infectious grin. One of the funniest blokes I have had the pleasure of knowing.
