Cornell

Cornell

I don't think he was outstanding on Saturday, he did his job well but if he conceded anything that was actually on target he would have been slates because the efforts on target weren't actually overly dangerous or were direct from ma corner.

Not playing him down but I do think some of the reaction has been over the top.

I'm not one to slag him off either.

Save after our goal was a good save, but the rest were simple for sure.

Did well with dealing with the balls into the box too though, and he's good coming off his line.

Yeah, I think on crosses he looked really assured.

It's definitely in our interests to have a backup keeper confident enough to step up when needed, and I think he's done a good job coming in. Some people trying to fill Iversen's boots could be tempted to stick to their line / play safety first, keep their heads down and hope for the best, so he deserves credit.

The defence seem to have confidence with him behind them. Perhaps this is because they know that he will come for crosses. Haven't felt that they have the same understanding with Walton.

Why are we announcing the transfer of a player who wasn’t even at the club anymore?

It’s highly likely that they will get to the prem before we do

Mind you that’s probably true of Accy Stanley too
Yes that’s not saying much. I still hang on to the hope that our fortunes will change. Hope is the key word though as I have no great expectations.
Best chance is the takeover
A) Happening
B) Going well

Dai was a really really top guy, who was in the squad as third choice keeper and whose main role was to assist in training routines which require one goalkeeper for each 6 or 7 outfielders. He was never really expected to be first choice and play games except in extreme emergencies and was paid accordingly. No club like North End can affors to pay 3 first team ready keepers. He never gave anything except his absolute best yet lots of unfair criticism went his way. I wish him every success.

He didn’t exactly have the most watertight of defences in front of him.
