David Amoo Released / Joins Tranmere (Confirmed)

David Amoo Released / Joins Tranmere (Confirmed)

Agreed, but it must be tempting to have a sneaky peek?

I seem to recall some fans championing this signing as "stellar" when he arrive in the summer, so yes, he has been a major disappointment.

But confidence is a huge part of football, and this lad's was clearly on the floor. Why this was who knows? But it appears Westley was not capable of getting his head right and improving him. Shame, I've a feeling he'll do well at Tranny & could well be a Championship player next season.
And the latest player for this Jeffrey Monakana, weve seen how he plays when his confidence is up but of late hes looked drained. perhaps the acquisition of a decent right back could help that return, lets hope so.

Absolutely. It must help him having Keane behind him, someone who knows the full back position and can talk him through games. A midfielder or centre back playing there will only be concentrating on learning their side of the game and won't be able to help Monakana much, and at 18 the hostile atmosphere might not be too helpful either.

Westley plays Jeff on the left in most games and then will have Buchanan behind him. Bailey Wright has played well at right back in some games, down at Bournemouth it was a cross from Wright (playing right back) that set up Sodje for the equaliser.

Amazed that Amoo has courted 184 posts (including mine here) out of you.

Shit player.

We got rid.

No loss.

We move on.

(some people eh!)

I think Amoo was signed as a result of the way he took his goal against us when he played for Bury, he looked quick and direct that day playing through the middle if I remember.

Does your opinion count above everybody else's?

Yet the manager of the team at the top of our division has started him in every game since he got him from us and they have won two games with him in the side with him scoring one and getting a penalty in the other one.

Will surprise me if he makes it at this level - suppose anybody can flourish in a different role at a another club but that last ten minutes at Bury left me thinking the guy was in the wrong sport. You never know re I witnessed Mark Lawrensons debut versus Watford up against a certain Stewart Scullion and he was out of his depth - look what happened to him.

But he was terrible here!

We have got the ability to make Lionel Messi look bad lol. At Millwall highlighted in the after match press conference by their manager and at Coventry in the league game he was the player.that caused the opposition the.most problems but what the fuck does Ronnie Moore know lol

Before this season he didn't know too much!

Amoo was poor for us. He didn't fit into the way we play (even earlier in the season when we were arguably playing the best football we have for years). If he fits in at Tranmere, then every credit.

I`m not saying amoo looked good because i genuinely thought he looked shit...but the complete lack of a system to feed forwards and the lack of football we play obviously didnt work for amoo...added to that the apparent fear of failure instilled into our players and the lack of any cohesive directions all added to the fact that he would fail here....just like most of our other players are doing under this failed leadership

Is fear of failure being instilled by the manager or the fans? We continue to look quite good away from home.

I'm sure Amoo will be successful one day, but not with a GW team.

Lack of football?? We play plenty of football, just don't really bother with the shooting bit.

Amoo was dross for us, I was happy when we got rid. He looked like a school kid closing his own man down on the wing, making clueless runs and shanking crosses. If he manages to play well at Tranmere and not drop out of the professional game within two years then good luck to the lad.

Only time will tell how good or not so good Amoo will be, everything before that is opinion.

Indeed, I am posting on the evidence at PNE only.

I wasn't there but you are most likely correct here Billy. Not a fan myself of signing a player based upon 1 game played against us.

No, it doesn't Surf just like yours doesn't. I speak (type) for myself. I just don't understand the fuss about such a mediocre player, thats all.

If he goes on to be a success at Tranmere, then it is a sacrifice worth taking to finally rid ourselves of that God awful "Amoooooooooooooo" chant at substitutions.

Would Beavon and Amoo have worked as a strike pairing?

I just feel it would be a little lightweight.

The question now is whether Beavon and Garner can form an effective partnership or whether they might be a little lightweight. In any which case we either need to alternate them with a proper centre forward or maybe even find a different use for Beavon - say the right of midfield.
