Wish we had a Sedgwick type player now, just what we're missing.
 
I lost count of the amount of times Alexander went forward and past Sedgwick who would then drop back and cover for him. As soon as that stopped its no surprise we suddenly became very open in wide positions.

These players have a number of common denominators, one of which is their Afro Caribbean origin. Only a zealot would consider the statement to be racially motivated or insensitive. It's not and I don't think you are by the way.

I didn't give it any thought, but I think for me to have taken a conscious decision to remove the reference to their skin colour would have actually been a decision made on the basis of someone's race, which is something that I and most rightful thinking people try to avoid.
 
Sedgwick was certainly limited but he was a regular in the best team we've had in 30 years.

When we signed them I said that I'd be happy if one of amok and monakana comes good. Monakana has shown the greater potential and hopefully with good coaching and hard work he can kick on to become a consistently dangerous player. Amoo just never got going. He has all the physical attributes to be awesome in tis division but with no football brain he won't get much further.

I know its only one goal, and feel free to move into general football, but he managed to score after 30mins playing for tranmere maybe the problem isnt our strikers and it lies more with the service from midfielders??
 
i have said this for ages, we have no service from midfield at all and our wingers hardly ever threaten, it needs sorting and once it is we have the strikers to score

It is unbelievable isn't it! What is it with our club and players!
 
I've already said on the other thread Amoo is playing has strike partner through the middle up top, so maybe we were playing in the wrong positions.

Amoo is and will never be a winger, Stick him up top with a partner and have some one who can feed him the ball he will score. we have no one at Preston who can feed our strikers, Needs Adressing QUICK
 
Why do you sign a player from Liverpool on a 12 month contract Play him for most of the first half of the season
then terminate his contract by mutual consent....I smell another player who has fallen out with Westley maybee?
Anyhow not good enough for our lowly team but snapped up and straight in the team at the top of the league and what do you know he scores as well !!! Very sad to see a player of his obvious potential leave when we have so many average players in the squad...
