We all came of smiling with home games points in the bag , away fans thinking theyed been mugged it's all coming home to roost.
We’ve been beaten by 3 better teams no doubt about that .We all came of smiling with home games points in the bag , away fans thinking theyed been mugged it's all coming home to roost.
I’m not sure WBA at home was going to be one of the tougher tests but they well and truly battered us. Positives from the Leicester and Ipswich games but ultimately we got thumped in both and our defence is a shambles. We were riding our luck a little but this is the reality. I still see no reason why we can’t take 6th spot if we get back to basics. On the bright side, we're still 3rd... plenty more games left and we won't face tougher tests than the three we've just faced.
Hmmm what about Southampton Leeds and Norwich. On the bright side, we're still 3rd... plenty more games left and we won't face tougher tests than the three we've just faced.
They won’t be tougher but we will certainly have to be better defensively.Hmmm what about Southampton Leeds and Norwich.
We pretty much failed against Rotherham and Plymouth and Brimingham could easily have gone the other way. we certainly rode our luck and you cant build a team on luck, certainly not one that wants to challenge. We’ve been beaten by 3 better teams no doubt about that .
Nowhere near enough resilience I agree. We pretty much failed against Rotherham and Plymouth and Brimingham could easily have gone the other way. we certainly rode our luck and you cant build a team on luck, certainly not one that wants to challenge.
Dont get me wrong it's great when its going your way but i think it has masked the frailties that are still there.
Nowhere near enough resilience I agree.
Like last season we started the season being difficult to score against and then start conceding for fun. I know Storey and Hughes have been missing but it’s disappointing that it has resulted in the entire defence collapsing.
I'm not so sure about that.On the bright side, we're still 3rd... plenty more games left and we won't face tougher tests than the three we've just faced.
Possibly , but 10th place are only 3 points behind us…..On the bright side, we're still 3rd... plenty more games left and we won't face tougher tests than the three we've just faced.
I think that there are better teams than Ipswich and West Brom….On the bright side, we're still 3rd... plenty more games left and we won't face tougher tests than the three we've just faced.
I agree with most of this, but...The issue is when you take out two of your main three defenders and then a third one goes off injured it’s going to have some sort of affect on the team. Storey and hughes had a shocker last Saturday but the majority of the time they put in 7 out of 10 performances.
The back up defenders just ain’t good enough. God knows why Bauer is still here. He’s been dreadful since his injury. Why did we offer Cunningham a new deal. It’s lazy recruitment by the club. I had absolutely no issue with bambo going. He wouldn’t have help matters but keeping Cunningham and Bauer won’t either. This absolutely needs addressing in jan. The first defence on its day is good but as soon as injury hits we are shambolic.
Good points on both sides. I think the game has evolved since Moyes was with us - much faster and players who are either not match fit and/or simply out of position, especially in defence against fast players will struggle. But, I also think that in Moyes's day, the rest of the team stood stronger. We need a Gregan to get some fire into bellies!I agree with most of this, but...
Moyes managed to find ways to win when the defence was shot - Adam Eaton left back and Rob Edwards at right back is one that sticks out, we still beat WBA that night.
Craig Brown managed a win away at West Ham with Cresswell playing the back end of the game at RCB.
The points I'm making are: a) it's still possible to find a way when you have injuries and b) with a full squad, conceding 3s and 4s against good teams has become the norm for us under Lowe.
We'll see how we react now. He's definitely grown as a manager and now we'll see by how much - will what he said after the game yesterday actually happen? If Brady starts the next game, we'll know he was just spouting off.
End of November will show us how it’s going to pan out.Possibly , but 10th place are only 3 points behind us…..
I think we will find our correct level in the next two weeks.
Agreed Ken...End of November will show us how it’s going to pan out.
Looking so far I’d say we’ve ridden our luck to top then now we are getting battered and are easy to play against going forward.
