I see our new PM has suggested bringing back drinking in the ground whilst watching the game.
Personally, I wouldn't want it.
Not too bad I'd imagine in the STFS but if you sit on the Town End, would you want a steady stream of people wanting to get past you not only to buy drinks but also the inevitable trips to the toilet?
Get a drink before and at half time. I'm sure you can survive 45 minutes without.
Thoughts.

Sorry, didn't know where to post this or if it has been already.

It’s an interesting dilemma.
Don’t do it and we sit with the status quo of fucking around at half time and trying to smash a beer in next to no time.
Do it and as you say it’s going to piss people off with the constant up and down malarkey.

Having said that it’s probably another 250k over the home games into the income stream. Dammed if you do etc….

I can just see it causing more problems than not.
Not for me I'm afraid and I'm not averse to a few pints.

It might be the difference between league 2 clubs survival or not.
Just putting an alternative option out there.
The likes of the top 4 in the prem will coin it in so is that a help or not?
The 4k that harrogate get every other week might be insignificant I guess but when you have 70k at arsenal etc… then it’s going to make a difference

I don’t think the top clubs need the coin tbh.
I think lower league clubs are not all seater stadiums so from an inconvenience point of view, it wouldn't be an issue.

Im not sure we’ve touched the politics side of it for obvious reasons.
Happy to let the mods decide on the direction this may go though.

Been to many games in Europe where you can drink in the stands and never see any problem or people getting up or down regularly. Likelihood is most people would have a pint at most in each half.
You could also have people selling beer from those packs like they do at gigs.
Saying that I won’t be drinking the shit served at PNE

It's the morons who think it's funny to throw pints in the air that puts me off. There's nothing wrong with how it is now so why change.
Beat me to it. Fucking hate that behaviour.

Did please me when I saw James Dean Bradfield at a gig spot someone who was about to do it and got him thrown out.

For that reason, it's a 'no' from me.

If you are a responsible adult, you should be able to have a drink in your seat, if you aren't you shouldn't really be allowed to attend.
Im sure quite a few will disagree with you there.
Every other sport that people attend doesn’t have the restrictions football has
All stems back decisions made in the 80’s which is nearly 50’years ago so it’s right that it’s reviewed but not guaranteed

I’ll be standing at what won’t be a packed terrace at the rugby tomorrow night and it’s great to have two or three during the game (apart from the fact that most of the spotty faced teens that invariably ‘man’ the bars never appear to have poured a pint before in their lives, have the work ethic of Spud from Trainspotting and the sense of urgency of a fucking sloth).

People can get a bit irritated in the stands though.

I’d be against bringing it back for football, partly because rugby fans can obviously hold their drink better.
