Enthusiasm

My dad turned 67 yesterday. He's watched us pretty much his whole life and tonight he said he doesn't enjoy games anymore. Just finds it a chore. Have to agree. It's honking. And to be fair, it's not all down to Lowe. Was the same the last 2 seasons under AN too.

I turned 78 this year, went on my first match aged 7.
Seen some shite, but also seen some excellent players along the way.
From the 50's to today I have seen how the game has changed.
Had great times travelling up and down the country, meeting and befriending some great people, many are probably names on the Gentry flags now.
Even came through the Westley times.
I think it was a game at Deepdale, I think against QPR were I first got the feeling that your dad had.
COVID struck and as shite as those times were it was a bit of a blessing that I didn't have to attend Deepdale.
I had long had a season ticket but didn't renew after COVID but just picked my games.
Went on the first five home games last season and even winning games the "football" on offer was hard to take and I haven't been since.
I live in hopes that we shortly see the back of Ridsdale and Lowe and new people come in that win, lose or draw make the footie more pleasing to watch and worth the trudge up Deepdale Road.
The only thing that bothers me is if it becomes worth the effort an old fart technophobe like me will be able to gain access to the ground.

Sorry, I know, shit fan.

I thought line up and player setup was fine. What we need to do is get much fitter pre season so we can press more. This disrupts their play and opportunity build up. Then work on moving forward quicker leading to more unpredictable play. Lowe and assistant have not changed they pattern of play which shows me how basic his coaching is.

On a more positive note Greenwood looked a good addition, thor worked hard and seemed to have a voice. New wingback looked spot on. Speed takes players on and clever looking. Just need that extra perm wingback with a CB and I think we have a team to challenge - with or without Lowe ⚽⚽😎

I will repeat this again...many years ago i was told by someone in the know that Trev was a horses man ..he loved them and would do nearly anything to try to have success. Whilst he liked PNE he saw it as a sort of step son that he cared for but didn't have the same affection.
So...I was always told that once Trev was gone his Son was way more into PNE than horses so the balance would change.... I'm sure that Craig is more football focused than his late Dad but yet i get a feeling he is being held back...
Its a real shame because with a bit of effort the Hemmings could be held in the highest terms at our club for generations.
I was told exactly the same thing many years ago as well. TH said that he would always support the club financially to ensure it’s continued existence, but that was the extent of his interest/ambition.

We have an owner that won't speak publicly, who seemingly controls the purse strings and has a disdain for football.

We have a dinosaur 72 year old director who controls the footballing side of things who is vilified at multiple other league clubs and hasn't updated his thinking since a conversation in 1991.

We have a manager who speaks to the fans as if we're all idiots, talks constantly in clichés and has lost the last 6 league games without scoring a goal.

And people wonder why fans are pissed off and apathetic?
