Gentry Day 2018 - You Decide - Voting Closed

Gentry Day 2018 - You Decide - Voting Closed

So then we have one season where we put up a poll as an alternative.

Stop looking for problems that simply aren't there!

But the problems are there. That’s why I have highlighted them. They are real.

We need a genuine supporters group to decide what is the most appropriate fixture early on. They can have guidelines, but the rules can’t be set in stone.

I personally liked and respected the previous system. I understand why the group resigned due to abuse by a minority, but I would urge them to reconsider and recognise they have the support of the majority.

That's why I Moderate! 😀

Before I retire to bed, the vibe I am getting is that Budgie prefers Sun'lun away as the choice (fair enough, his own vote) but, and I might be wrong here, the tone of his posts leads me to ask if he is involved in the FB Group somehow given his defensive nature of them.

If I have mis-read, then I apologise but it is just the way it comes across.

As I posted above, PNE should announce that it is set in stone that from 2019 onwards, the away game over the Easter Weekend is THE game. No arguments from anyone then with it giving everyone a whole 10 months from the fixtures coming out to book things like trains, mini buses, hotels, etc.

Fuck me Mystic Meg - not that its got anything to do with you which Group I am involved in.

Where would we have been with Gentry Day this evening if this group hadnt contacted the club last Friday...who was going to take it on.....and why have the club backed this group with their Retro Day idea ?

It`s a pity you weren`t as quick to put your hair brained ideas on here when I was helping PSG or promoting their cause.....look hard enough and if you can find anybody that defended PSG more than me you will be a lucky man.

Some years ( eg, i think, 2016) Easter weekend is reserved for international fixtures, depending how it falls. Either no fixture, or a rearranged fixture. Sometimes the Easter Monday game, if that is the away fixture, is rearranged at late notice to Tuesday ev3neing.

So we are back to square 1.

Right ok , easy enough to fix, just need a plan b

What is plan b. Who decides ? What if Bolton away and Sunderland away are either side of easter? We are back to where we are now.

There are plenty of reasons why Easter away , if a suitable date, is not a great day for a gentry day. Better to pick a less busy day on the roads and railways.

To me, we just need to reignite the old system and persuade the ones who sorted it for the last few years to come back and trust their judgement.

It looks like the old system is dysfunct , so we need to find a new one, so you found a hole in plan b, what about c, d , e

Couldn't agree more. It's thanks to them that we're even having this discussion and people feel so strongly about it. I think after the farce that there's been so far, and I think there's far worse to come, people will be glad to have JK and the others back because they'll remember how smoothly Gentry Day used to be organised. You'll always get the odd gobshite who'll go against the grain but they can't be allowed to spoil it for the majority.

Totally.

The rest of us can’t even agree what effing fixture it should be.

Never mind all the other stuff such as organising bowlers, liasing with police, the club etc etc.

If no one comes forward that is accepted by the majority then Im sticking to the last away league fixture ( weekend ) of every season......... When we reach the Prem it'll probably be before Christmas on a sunday evening.. depending on sky of course 🙂

I worried about a 52% - 48% majority - I mean that sort of split has some previous.
Out is out. I mean the choice is the choice. The majority will have spoken. Though there will be a question about whether people were given the correct information in order to make their decision. Such as away capacity. Perhaps a second vote will be required.

40,000 ? Be way more than that by the time I have my Chinese team on it. All coming from behind a Tor browser.

3000 votes so far. So it doesn’t look like there has been as much of an issue regards multiple voting as some people feared, which is good news.
