We've probably ended up with exactly what we deserve in that case.Half the fanbase spent his last two and a half years saying how bored they were and complaining about him being dour

Hecky has got us in the mess we are in but Pr and Ch do have take some blame also.

To be fair, he talks a good game but his coaching record is hardly glowing. I think his last job was at Matlock Town.Sign him up to the coaching staff.
Mid table Div 1 side? That’s being generous.
Players are capable of better - their mind-set isn’t. PH’s coaching staff need sent packing this week btw

I'd take Russ Abbott over what we have now.Zach Abbott was the one we were linked to.
They tend to do that at half time!!!!Stay in the dressing room
All good points and not withstanding that we fairly recently renewed contracts for Hughes and Storey and Lindsay's has also been renewed (not sure when on that one). As you have intimated, we wouldn't have needed anyone to take them off our hands if they hadn't been given lazy renewals!!No wait, I have another one
Proceeds to point out the strikers aren't scoring and no one wants to take the defenders off our hands.

Those deflective answers are precisely why we find ourself in this mess.
We’ve let that narcissistic clown take absolutely no responsibility for his shambolic running of the club for 10+ years. Bulletproof, an excuse for everything, absolutely 0 desire to look in the mirror and improve.
Want to know why we’re in our current plight? Look no further than that buffoon and the clowns who’ve let him run the show for so long. Owners couldn’t give less of a shit, and that attitudes filtered down to the playing squad constantly.
This is their legacy.

Who is now benchwarming at Southampton (zero all competitions minutes thus far) but it sounds better in #RiddyLeaks to say a person under a severance package NDA "didn't want him" instead of the fact he went to a bigger club who could pay a higher wage contribution (if not in full) and afford any penalty fees for not starting him if he bombed.
I thought this might be the case also.My fear is that these players are not 'having' Grezza at all.
He's not a big enough 'name' for them in the way they'd have been star-struck by Gerrard or Keane.
My suspicion is they see it as uninspiring and, while the fan base has affection for GA, the players have no such attachment.
He didn't sign them, they don't know him, he's only come from Bradford, he wasn't a big name player, who is he to tell them what to do? etc.
If he tries to get tough, they'll simply shrug their shoulders, cry injury and get on the phone to their agent.
All his sincere talk about pride, commitment, doing it for your family, etc is being treated with contempt on the pitch by a bunch of mercenaries who have no interest other than the pay cheque.
He's preaching hard work and running to a group that clearly doesn't want to put their bodies on the line, let alone die for the shirt in the way GA and CL did.
More than that, these players may be lacking many things but they're not stupid when it comes to their careers.
It's not even November, but it would take a miracle to keep us up - and they'll know that.
There are too many 'tossing it off' (to use footballers' parlance) and self-preservation will get even more obvious as the months drag by (although I expect several miraculous recoveries towards the end of the season to tempt gullible new buyers in the summer).
As I said the other day, the rush to the exit come May will be a sight to behold.
The only positive is that we'll be well shut of these gutless tossers.
Fingers crossed.😤
When you hear Scott Laird and the other Stevenage lads talk about Westley they don't criticise him, they all bought into his methods and it worked. Then he comes to PNE and the rest is history.

No one follows Preston for the glory. My grandad told me that after we had lost to port vale many many moons ago.
Maybe we have to come down to go back up. Have a reset as they say.

I have just listened to his brief interview post match last night, when asked about what went wrong defensively. My fear is that these players are not 'having' Grezza at all.

GA answered when we came in we wanted to change things, defending previously had not worked, there had not been a clean sheet in a long time ?
The ideas ,plan we wanted to introduce needs trust and full commitment you have got to be committed to make it work.
Perhaps we need to look at the ideas we wanted to bring in and make changes, if it's not going to work we might have to look to change the ideas
Looks like after just 2 games this squad are not adapting to how GA/CL want them to, let's see how we set up for the next game.🤔🥴

I think it’s mainly in his book. But he regularly references his ill feeling towards him everytime his name comes up on the podcast. As others have said though, it’s largely due to his intense training demands.Does anyone know which Undr The Cosh episode it is where Jon Parkin talks about his clashes with Graham Alexander at (I think it was) Fleetwood?
Thing is, I can see our team of workshy, unfit wasters resenting him just the same.

From what I recall it was also when Alexander wasn't playing Parkin because of a clause in his contract relating to appearances. Alexander told Parkin it was chairman's orders. Parkin asked the chairman (Andy Piley) who said this wasn't the case.
Parkin blames Alexander as a consequence.
Thing is, I'm not sure I'd believe Andy Piley myself...

That was my fear prior to his appointment..players thinkin they're established, elite championship players & seeing a journey man lower league manager comin in.My fear is that these players are not 'having' Grezza at all.

Definitely has primadonnas written all over it.
As you say, players aren't stupid.
It's us fans that has to pick up the pieces
Add to this Gugjohnsen who is scoring at Rovers. He was set to come here but wanted to talk to rovers to see what they were offering which I think is fair so Hecky pulled the plus saying he didn't want him, so that's another player we desperately needed and due to Heckies arrogance and pig headedness we miss out.
The club source said that they wouldn't sign players that Hecky didn't want because they did and he wouldn't play them unless he had to.
Steve Eyre spot on with his analysis of us yet again, got it in one, players not good enough, they are league 1.
Although Pr has to shoulder some blame the majority is on Heckingbottom and i hope he doesn't return to Deepdale anytime soon.
