Confirmed Graham Alexander New Manager, Chris Lucketti as Assistant

I hate to say this, (and I fully agree with you by the way),

but I was shouting this last season, Robbie Brady was all of those you mentioned in the background, was he playing?, obviously not and it rallied fans up, but he was so influential in all of those traits above.

Is our decline down to him, absolutely not, but losing good people behind the scenes, day to day who are more influential than just 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon is far more damaging than fans ever realise.
Can we add “2 goal” Dai to this list as well?😉

Add to this Gugjohnsen who is scoring at Rovers. He was set to come here but wanted to talk to rovers to see what they were offering which I think is fair so Hecky pulled the plus saying he didn't want him, so that's another player we desperately needed and due to Heckies arrogance and pig headedness we miss out.

The club source said that they wouldn't sign players that Hecky didn't want because they did and he wouldn't play them unless he had to.

Steve Eyre spot on with his analysis of us yet again, got it in one, players not good enough, they are league 1.

Although Pr has to shoulder some blame the majority is on Heckingbottom and i hope he doesn't return to Deepdale anytime soon.
You're doing well cha keep it up 👏👏👏

Why wasn't the defence strengthened 2/3 years ago, only Gibson of the CH's has changed , Storey, Hughes and Lindsay should have gone as they are too slow at this level. Nobody came in for them they are under contract where do they go?
Just on this one because I know you've had replies for the other bits but that's a classic Ridsdale catchphrase he uses as a way to excuse his own laziness. If he was selling a car, he'd put a sign up in the car window and have it on the driveway and complain when no-one is knocking at the door. Selling players often isn't as simple as just waiting for someone to come knocking.

Also just as a general point, doesn't it highlight how poorly the club operates if they surrender all control to the manager (who is only here for a couple seasons) on all issues? Managers come and go; players often outlast them at clubs. A club's transfer strategy should be built with the club's best interests at heart. To have a transfer strategy completely change manager to manager, as Ridsdale often suggests is how we operate, is downright moronic.

Also, Ridsdale often likes to pass blame for all issues onto whoever was the previous manager because they're never gonna come back and add their own corrections to the record. Bad-mouthing an ownership you worked under puts a manager at significant risk of struggling to find future work. As a contrast, it's easy for clubs to leak negative news about a previous manager because they're always going to find managers desperate to climb the ladder. You can see it happen at a bigger scale with Premier League clubs too when they sack a manager.

I agree, but I’m not sure anyone expected anything else, given what’s available.

‘Hi Graham, Here’s a bucket of shit, turn it into a winning team for us. There’s a good lad.’ 🙃

Not going to happen.

There won’t be a massive improvement in results.

It’ll just be a case of how Grezza reacts when he realises (if he hasn’t already) the scale of the shitstorm he’s walked into.

Will he throw some raw kids in, to see how they cope? Or stick with Burgzorg’s three touches in 31 minutes? 🤯

Will he dispose of the easy-ozey fitness coaches? The shambolic recruitment team? The injury prone players? The ludicrous contract extensions?

Will he get involved in stadium atmosphere (à la Beck) and insist on sticking away fans in the top corner of the STFS while giving the Kop back to our singers? (Easily done in L1.)

Given that many are already resigned to L1 next season, GA has a free hit to be radical and play a major part in forging a brave new era - if he’s got the vision and the balls for it.

Or he can stick with the status quo - and end up like Hecky and Stuart McCall. 😕

Accurate/ good/realistic post......... Can't see Alexander sticking with the status quo at all . It's not in his nature.

Boro wanted £2.5m 😳 for Burgzorg which we turned into a Loan with, I think, an Option to Buy which shouldn't under any circumstances taken up, even on a Free.

Erabi was a Loan with a £2m Option to Buy which I suspect we will pass up on.

I'm a sad fecker as well and read as much of this crap ( not just this thread) as I can stomach. I'm amazed you have the patience to reply . Whilst we don't always agree at least you are positive when you post. Many of these contributors need to be on a suicide watch........... That's from someone who did his his apprenticeship at the wrong end of the old 4TH Division and loved every minute of it........................................... Doesn't excuse the shite we've had for 20 years of course but at least us lot from that era don't panic. 🙂

No argument on your first statement snd I think you must have miscalculated.🤣

Hi Bantam fan here. I fully understand your frustration at the moment but to expect to be pushing for promotion after two results against tough teams is crazy. GA got us from 16th in div 2 to top of 1st division in less than 3 years. In football these days, thats quite an achievement. I saw some disrespectful messages regarding Bradford on your message boards but i'm sure it's a knee jerk reaction to the disappointment of not getting a 'bigger' name in as manager. Plummeting from the Prem the way we did in 2001 to 16th in the fourth tier was a wake up call. Give GA time. He'll turn it around. You know he inherited a shit team but he will need the Jan window . Truly hope you climb to safety and beyond. Always had a soft spot for PNE. Loved visiting Deepdale, even when you had the plastic pitch.

Thank you for the insight

I don't think anyone realistically believes we should be pushing for the promotion. Out of curiosity, how active was Alexander during your transfer windows?
