All the talk of getting rid of the manager and getting someone else in, there hasn’t been many if any realistic suggestions. So.. Who is realistic that we could get to come in to the club now?

Honestly to me its about getting him out the club first, clearly something has happened behind the scenes and the players dont want to play for him, look at the teams we have played lately blackburn/watford/oxford they didnt play amazing football but they never stopped going, preston players heads are always downAll the talk of getting rid of the manager and getting someone else in, there hasn’t been many if any realistic suggestions. We've been here before the postman the charlatan now heckingbottom.Honestly to me its about getting him out the club first, clearly something has happened behind thegbottom scenes and the players dont want to play for him, look at the teams we have played lately blackburn/watford/oxford they didnt play amazing football but they never stopped going, preston players heads are always down

All three same core squad, a lot still from Neil's time.
Its not just the manager that needs sacking, most the squad and ridsdale too.
We were interested. But it wasn’t us messing around over 2/3m that meant he didn’t come here. We had a fee agreed for lower than that. Lampard pulled it in a tantrum because Everton weren’t releasing funds for him to get what he wanted. So blaming the club for that one is misinformed.
Really? Surprised Everton were happy to sell for about 1.5m when they got about three times that from Coventry four months later.
Must've been a big sell on clause in that potential deal.

The problem with owners that don’t care is that they also don’t care what people say to or think of them.
Might as well talk to a wall. People are worn out.
My issue is though that nothing has happened. No boycott, no chants, no protests.
We can't say 'they don't care what we do' if we all just keep turning up.
You might be right but they have had zero heat. Neil, Lowe and now Heckingbottom have.

There's just been too many downs & not enough ups.
I think most were pleased when we got him. We had a great start to the season for whatever reason & I do think that the players we have in the squad at the moment are better than last season although they absolutely aren't showing it.
The complete capitulation we had last year that nearly cost us dear & pretty much the same this year only made any "better" by the fact we shouldn't get relegated cos of the start we had is completely on him.
I genuinely think he's given up. An old boss used to say to me "you are the culture you create" & if the players see that he's downed tools then they will as well. The odd exception aside they just aren't interested.
He will get he start of next season & if we struggle he will get sacked & the cycle will start again.
Hecky can be debated until the cows come home. We have to have change further up the tree & until we do it will just be the same old same old.
Until the owners are gone I won't be buying another ST.

Less than that. They were willing to take anything just to balance their books.Really? Surprised Everton were happy to sell for about 1.5m when they got about three times that from Coventry four months later.

They got £3.5m from Coventry because he played 10 Prem games and scored against Chelsea.
No manager can succeed unless everyone at the club is pulling in the same direction with the same goal.
Hecky has now realised (as did Neil) that the owners don’t give a shit and want out. So what’s the point?
Let’s sack the manager, bring in Alex Neil 3.0 and give Ridsdale and the owners another 12-18 month free pass.

Does he need a liftFingers crossed .
I cannot see how he can survive 2 more losses.
Last 11 games Won - 1 Draw - 2 Lost 7
The only thing keeping him here is that the club don't want to pay his severance.

Still shows that we just don’t reinvest when we sell players. How can you sell a a player for that amount and replace him with a player for 750k and expect the manager to keep a team performing. If you are selling a player for 10 million surely you need to reinvest a good amount of that on a player or two to keep improving. Players trading should be our model but we just don’t do it. Millwall have done it and are reaping the rewards.I'm going to upset you here but...
Hugill (£9.5m) was replaced by Stockley (£750k).
Less than 10% spent on the replacement from our then sole Billionaire owner.
There is no one on this planet who could improve any of our long term players who are now passed their limited peaks and are in terminal decline seeing out various lazy contract extensions.Totally agree, although Lampard was showing much more promise as a manager than Gerrard. We need someone who improves players, with the finances we have we’re never going to be able to buy the finished article. Has this bloke improved any players? Maybe Offiah but I would suggest nobody else. The drop off in Small has been marked, our awful midfield from last year is still awful, the loan players have dropped right off etc.
If we’re going to achieve anything we need someone who improves players and/or to do something different - which is why I advocated Barry Murphy or Skubala. I take on board the point about the rinse and repeat process but he’s been here 18 months or so and we haven’t improved - even with the benefit of two top notch loan signings in Devine and Dobbin and one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

Think we signed moult in the Jan window so he was hugills replacement?I'm going to upset you here but...

Moult "signed" late the previous November / early December (injured iirc) so I'm guessing that he was supposed to link up with Hugill.Think we signed moult in the Jan window so he was hugills replacement?
Obviously, like Barky who signed outside the window under similar circumstances, he couldn't officially "join / play" until January.
Stockley scored on his debut away to QPR.
I think Hugills last game was away to Sheff United (I was there, think we lost as usual).
So what exactly in your knowledgable opinion should his Plan B be to ensure some victories?? Please tell all.Every decent manager will have a plan B, but regarding Hecky, he hasn't got a clue. His plan A is so predictable that teams know how to set up and play against us, if things aren't going right after 60/65 minutes, let's not change shape just move players into different positions and take off either Devine or Dobbin, or both when he actually plays them together.
Sheff United, Sheff Wednesday, Wrexham, Coventry, Norwich, not sure if there's more but of the top of my head we have conceded first and actually got any points from these games. I've felt confident of us getting back into three out of those five games. Twice because of the way we played and once cause of how bad Wednesday are.
Hecky just isn't the right man, this isn't new, it happened last year and he managed to get away with it, and probably will this year as the clubs a mess but "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me".
It was. A 1-0 FA Cup 4th Round defeat. Billy Sharp scored a penalty in the 80th min.Moult "signed" late the previous November / early December (injured iirc) so I'm guessing that he was supposed to link up with Hugill.

Nice one. Good to see that I still have a tiny bit of memory remaining! 😂It was. A 1-0 FA Cup 4th Round defeat. Billy Sharp scored a penalty in the 80th min.
There's always someone if you cast the net far enough. Plenty of talent in the European leagues who would jump at the chance. The Championship had the “2nd highest aggregate league attendance in world football” in 2023/24 according to UEFA. Plenty of people would love that spotlight coming up against teams in big stadia. All the talk of getting rid of the manager and getting someone else in, there hasn’t been many if any realistic suggestions. Problem is that requires effort from Mr Jaffa Cakes.

It could be worse.
