Heckingbottom

They lost Nathan Lowe last year which was a huge blow. No idea if they've had anything similar this time round though.
I wonder how much of this is the self-fulfilling prophecy of repeating cycles / knock on to confidence.

For us it shouldn't be an excuse in real terms because of the volume of squad turnover, but at least from a fan's perspective it's easy for us to immediately switch to "here we go again" the minute results drop, and I'm sure it's been the same for them.

Yeah I don't think there's much in that kinda thing personally. Not at the stage of the season it's happened this time anyway, or both times it has for Walsall. Maybe moreso when it happens towards the end of the season.

But it's easy for fans to switch to that mentality when seen it happen numerous times before.

Momentum, morale and confidence is such a big thing when you're trying to push for top 6 spots, and you're not blessed with lots of quality. If you lose that, it can spiral quickly.

Think if he was as flash & Scouse as Lowe then he wouldn't have had the easy ride he's been getting. The problem is PR didn't want to sack Lowe and did it a year too late. Be the same here
100% this. His key characteristic has always not being called Ryan Lowe.

Take the personalities away and they both deliver the same flavour of shite.

Talking about fans needing to get behind the players is a bit strange. The support they’ve had has been great and I defy anyone to say they didn’t deserve stick after last Friday. I suppose he hasn’t gone as far as the captain in saying we don’t understand the game.

Another question might be why do our managers always revert to shit football? Even Neil wasn't immune.

What are the underlying causes? A lack of investment, ultimately.

I’d say time to go but what’s the fucking point. Might as well put me in charge for all the difference it will make.

If he brings Thompson on instead of Devine though I hope he breaks his toes.

Waiting for the usual nonsense post match interview.

"The goals were all mistakes, all errors, so you're never going to win games if you give goals away like that. We've gifted the game to Coventry but they're a good side - it would have been hard enough anyway not doing that"

His time is up, tactically inept, hasn't got a clue what to do when his mediocre plan A doesn't work.

Is it any wonder plenty of managers always go after the PNE job when it is available. You get fuck all budget to spend and have to work with Peter but however shit you are and run you are on you won’t get sacked and talked into staying
