Not sure I believe that.We weren’t shite earlier in the season and even coped when Armstrong missed a few games through injury so something has changed.
Looks to me like the team spirit evident in the first half of the season has vanished.
Don’t suppose Whiteman is in a position to admit that the manager has lost the dressing room (hope he hasn’t) whether it’s true or not.
I'd say it has changed. We'd only lost 5 games in the first half of the season. Two of those were harsh. We were fortunate to draw against Bristol and then the draw and wins against Coventry and Ipswich but those two were hard fought by the team to scrape through those games. Rest of the games I think we've deservedly got something out of those games. Not sure I believe that.
Results and Iverson just glossed over the performances.
In that first half of the season I would say we have had four/five decent performances - Leciester at home, West Brom away, Charlton at home, Southampton away, Wrexham at home. If you look at these in context as well - three are currently in the bottom half and Southampton at the time were bottom and about to sack their manager.
West Brom away is the only loss I feel we have lost that we didn't deserve to. Birmingham at home as well maybe. All the other losses we have deserved to lose.
The three games Armstrong missed - Blackburn at home, Watford away and Shef Wednesday away. We were diabolical in all three (ok in Watford but held on towards the end.)
I don't think anything has changed. I just think results are catching up as overall our performances haven't been that great. Similar to Lowe's last season.
Our record under PH is pretty bad 1.24ppg. However it is not the worst in recent history.Message to Paul Heckingottom

Our record under PH is pretty bad 1.24ppg. However it is not the worst in recent history.
Ferguson 0.98ppg, Westley 1.04ppg, Phil Brown 1.19ppg
I wasn't trying to defend PH just replying to someone who said he was statistically our worst ever manager. His record is pretty crap compared to a lot of managers we have had.Better than perhaps the three least successful and most hated managers in our history? Ferguson all but relegated us with that total before Brown came in and didn't do much better.
It's a very fucking low bar this.
End of the day, if we want to compete in the Championship, the owners must be prepared to pay for footballers…
ExactlyIt’s sad but that’s almost certainly what’ll happen.
Sacking Hecky isn’t really a reflection of his ability as a manager. Like his immediate predecessors, he’s got as far as he can under the current set up.
We could appoint Arteta manager with Guardiola his assistant and the same would apply.
There’s an international break coming up, so there’s no rush to make a change because we only need a few more points to get over the line for another season.
Without changes at the top it's only heading one way.
Pretty sure he applied for the job when we gave it to Alex Neil.Hear me out:
(FWIW I’m not saying they’ll come)
Lampard post derby was shite. But sometimes it just works at a club, they’re not shit, managerial sackings are far more common these days.
But we have to change the narrative around us hiring managers, not backing them financially and then they down tools, so for arguments sake let’s say we got a gerrard type of mould.
He’s local, needs to rebuild his managerial career he’s not shit if he won the league with Rangers, yes it’s a 2 club league but you still have to set the team up to first and foremost win.
But we’re never going to attract top players, we’re not going to pay big money, so having an influential manager who can bridge the gap of finances would work,
He’s arguably one of the best motivators in football, not manager obvs, but motivation wise we need to find someone who can motivate what’s here without the need to spend top money.
I think sometimes there’s just good fits and hand on heart I do believe it would work with him here. Because the current cycle isn’t working clearly so go for a different approach in manager!
All that said he wouldn’t come here anyway 🤣 but still.
Might improve the playing surface 😂It's beginning to make me wonder whether it's worth "throwing a bomb under it."
We paid over 2 million for one. He is just made of glass.
Understand we need to be spending more but we have wasted so much money the last two seasons.
Okkles was 1.7 million.
We signed Thor.
Gibson 1.5 million.
And now lang.
We even signed Moran for a million and he has hardly played so far.
[Okkles was a 'club signing' from the 74 year old geriatric the owners employ. Not sure Heckingbottom can be blamed for that one
I can't fucking stand it when managers or anyone else for that matter says "listen" at beginning of a sentence.
Just screams "cunt" to me. 😂
Although I agree about both, the one that’s worse in my opinion is when they say ‘Look’ at the start of a sentence.I particularly dislike ‘does that make sense?’
Patronising bollocks. 😤
It takes a special sort of football genius to weaken the squad in the January window!...........The lack of investment in January when we were in a playoff place has killed us
The Aussies do that a lot , especially sports people…..Although I agree about both, the one that’s worse in my opinion is when they say ‘Look’ at the start of a sentence.
They’re about to combine a number of words in sentences that leave their mouths, we don’t need to look to listen to their inane ramblings. In fact, most of the time I don’t even listen never mind look.
It’s all part of this nonsense that fans need preaching to as we don’t understand football.
So it's not quite as bad as a manager who all-but got us relegated, the most insane manager we've ever had, and a manager who did get us relegated? Our record under PH is pretty bad 1.24ppg. However it is not the worst in recent history.
