Heckingbottom

My god.

How does he not come out with more honesty and acknowledgement to the position we're in and the performance's that he's serving up.

I really feel like his standards are so low. I bet he gave those players a big well done for it being 2-0.

I turned off at half time it was that bad first half. I rarely ever do that.

Norwich commentator said were not actually that good today but we've nearly got the game won at half time (just when they hit the cross bar).

He’s actually asking to be sacked, I’m pretty sure.

Sadly the decision maker won’t even know we are playing.
That's the worry for me and as Kathryn states we cant afford to sack him? . We cant continue into next season with him...I do wonder what jason Euell brings to the table our demise this season seemed to coincide with his arrival

Even if he doesn't go and we somehow scab the points we need, what mood will we have as fans in the summer? Does anyone think he will get us prepared for next season or just go with the awful wingbacks again?

IMO

Regardless of if he's here or not, the expectation will be about survival next season. Some monied/good sides will miss out on promotion and strengthen, then you've got experienced sides coming down from the EPL.

Some of our more technical players are on loan, will go back and will need replacing.

If Heckingbottom goes, Ridsdale likely hires another three at the back manager anyway (our last three managers have gravitated to it) or whoever is brought in will likely default to a back three
1) Because wingers/flair are more expensive than defensive players
2) It's what the current permanent players are built around.

Ryan Lowe levels of delusion Paul.

It’s just a load of words thrown together in a random manner in my opinion. No question about Osmajic, nothing about the injury to Iversen, nothing about Storey’s passing, nothing about our midfield two creating less than a 1 year old with a Lego set and being slower than a slug in Valium and nothing about Hughes and Smith and their inability to direct a football towards goal.

I’m only surprised he didn’t start on Small as well as Offiah.

Tin hat on but I completely disagree with any suggestion that he’s lost the dressing room.

Going away to Norwich (2026 YTD team of the year) and getting 2.5xG, creating genuine good chances…

It’s just an easy suggestion to make because it can’t be officially disproven.

1 Win in 12.

Failed to score in 7/12 games.

Lost 4 on the spin.

I would hate to see how badly we play if/when they do stop playing for him!

One big happy family in the dressing room.

He joined in the summer so how have you come to that conclusion?
Reminds me of how Steve Harrison used to get the blame for Gary Peters struggles - if you’re old enough to remember. I don’t think any of us really know what’s going on in the changing room and in training, so on that basis I’m going to blame everyone and get rid of the lot of them - I’ll call it the Westley method.

I’m going to be honest and say I’ve never liked him but fell into the trap of he’s better than Lowe, who I detested more than any other manager in the last 50 years. However, my mind was totally decided after Watford (I think) when he couldn’t control himself BEFORE the game, in situation he knew was coming up and he must have prepared for. Obviously footballing reasons are more valid and will be why he goes but his discipline and that situation in particular has been absurdly bad.

We need new or no manager bounce for friday
Every game is a 6pointer now
Fuck of hecky please for the sake of the club

Completely understand it’s not good enough - my point is jumping straight to the ‘he’s lost the dressing room!’ isn’t fair because bad results on the pitch doesn’t automatically mean any manager has lost the dressing room.

Obviously not comparing the two managers - but when Pep won only two in ten in 24/25 with his City team (relatively speaking, probably worse run than ours!), he didn’t lose the dressing room then magically win it back, did he?

I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to say. Similar was said of Alex Neil before he was sacked, but in interviews with players since that didn't seem to be the case. Without any player saying something we have no evidence to point to that says he has lost the dressing room.

What I do think however there's something fundamentally wrong that isn't tactical, I don't think we drop off this much if it's just tactics. It feels like there's something psychological going on. I wouldn't exclude the possibility he's lost the dressing room, but that doesn't mean he has. There's definitely something wrong though that's a bit more than tactics and luck.

I don’t think he’s lost the dressing room, the players seem to like him.

I just don’t think he has the tactical or motivational prowess to get this thing turned around, as he didn’t at most of his other gigs. And it’s getting a bit too desperate for comfort now.
