Heckingbottom

It will be fucking actually comical if Murphy survives another managerial change given his...and I'm going to use the word without laughing as I type...impact. we have got to be the worst team at set pieces offensively and defensively and have been so since the prick set foot in the place.

All the whole we are watching the premier league being walked by a team of set piece specialists. It fucking matters at this level.

Heck and McCall are a pair.
A properly transparent fans' forum right now would be absolute Hollywood - discussing decisions on club structure, recruitment and retention, contracts, fan engagement, the matchday experience…there'd be absolutely nowhere to hide.

Obviously it'll never happen. They'd ask for questions in advance and then spend the night answering safe ones about what colour the socks are next season.

That's why Hemmings stole our shares, after all 😡

Another example of petulance and ill discipline....and making us look like amateurish thugs.

I've had enough of Heckingbottom and his cronies dragging our club through the mud.

Get fucking rid of this embarrassment of a football manager and he can take a good chunk of the coaching team and squad with him.

Is that the sound of riddlers office drawer opening?

On the 5th January PNE had 43 points, Norwich had 24.

Today, PNE have 49 points, Norwich have 51 and a game in hand.
A statistic that the Manager should pin on the notice boards, the dressing rooms and him hammer home in a 'Team Talk'
A bit of reverse psychology might not go amiss here to shake them out of there malaise!
Telling them what a good bunch of honest professionals isn't going too well.
So.
Tell them 'you've been crap, since early January, what are you going to do about it?'
'How can you have let this slip so badly'!
Whether it does any good, or not - it won't be any worse!!

How on earth can we expect players to behave when the manager behaves the way he does? Getting banned for his actions in a pre match meeting? Defending Murphy’s behaviour against Hull?

I don’t think McCall would have been at fault, he apparently went over to check the lady was ok, and he generally keeps away from the others when they’re getting themselves in a tizzy. Out of the lot of them, he’s the only one who deserves a modicum of respect in my opinion - and I include the goalkeeping coach and the medical staff. There’s something inherently complacent and comfortable about everyone.

Fair enough mate. Obviously a more than fair opinion to hold.

I personally think he’s tactically astute, with an average squad. Where I think he is struggling at the minute, where all managers do, is turning it around whilst the players’ confidence is at an all time low. So maybe that aligns with what you say about motivational prowess - but easier said than done!
I just don’t see the tactically astute bit and would be curious to why you think that.

I can’t see how anyone that… a) persists with a system that opposition teams have worked out b) doesn’t appear to do much work on different systems when we do change (or if he does, the players don’t look like they understand it) c) fails so often to play to players strengths/is able to make the players listen to his instructions and play to their teammates strengths d) can’t work out how to fix it when things aren’t going well…can be considered a tactically astute manager.

I think he certainly has his moments. But then so did Lowe (usually when we were on tele). And I can’t overlook how often he has been tactically outclassed by opposition managers with squads that, relatively speaking, are no better than ours.

Going against the grain here and the herd mentality that drives some off, so i might get a few laughing emojis.
BUT, i personally would keep the PH/SM partnership while we limp through to the end of the Season.
We may already be safe but we probably only need 3 points to be absolutely safe, this Season.
of course if we can't do that with the already bad run then we would deserve to be relegated.
Only a few short Months, so not that long ago i was saying that it was a pleasure to go down to Deepdale and was looking forward to the Matches.
What changed -
Osmajjic's antics unsettled the Club, for one and possibly more than a lot realise.
Storey was playing out of his skin for fear of Offiah taking his place - till he realised how versatile he was, so he could still retain a place - and drop down a level or 2.
Whiteman stepped up a tad with the quality of Armstrong alongside - it seems he can do that a little, but not bring people up to a level if they depart, so a CAPTAIN, not.
Mads the other flair Player who could change things was offloaded.
Devine and Dobbin have tailed off - they are relatively young, its a long Season, it was always likely to happen.
The so called stalwart Players have been here too long.
Lindsay, Hughes, Brady, Potts, Storey, Whiteman (i've probably missed some out) have all been here too long and have a malaise when it comes after half a Season.
Ally that to signings like Smith who is probably the worst 2nd level striker we have ever had (not i would imagine the Managers 1st. 2nd or 3rd choice).

I would keep them to the end of the Season but would then expect him/them to do a root and branch clear out of the ones who have become complacent on there circa 10k per week salaries (i.e half a million per Season or so).

Disagree on keeping him because I am genuinely twitchy about relegation and he’s shown now twice he cannot arrest a monumental slide. But I think your post is exactly how the club will look at it behind the scenes, especially since they won’t want to pay compo, and I do agree with some of the sentiments in there.

And yes, I’m leaving the emoji because you asked for it.

Oh and i missed off Iverson's injury which was actually one of the main factors - Doh!
Too much vino! 😂

OK. I’ll keep my posts separate on what I know for definite tonight and is relevant to this thread.

One of our loan players has lost any respect for our manager and would have no interest in signing for us in the ridiculously unlikely event we paid his release clause.

And I met the glamour model Ms Marsh last year at a dog show in North Norfolk (ah -ha). True story. She no longer resembles the media friendly pictures you may have enjoyed.

A 'Season' is a long time in politics to borrow a phrase from another spectrum.
He was never going to sign long term, once he properly realised the actual dross around him.
'He' was the one in an interview after the first defeat to Rovers who said. 'That wasn't US out there'.
I put in a post then.
'I think he will find that it is - and the way we have played up to press, isn't usually 'US'.

More likely rather than the manager aspect, he's looked at what are around him and thought - feck this .i'm off to Wolves.
And who can blame him.
There may be a Manager effect, but as much or even MORE likely, it's the realisation of what he's playing with and alongside!
