Heckingbottom

Interesting you mention the Rovers game.
Isn't that the same game where he refused to go into the dressing room afterwards?
I don't mind the "getting them in tomorrow" approach infact he could've gone for that with nearly every performance since the Wigan defeat!
What i have got a problem with is not going into the dressing room.
That attitude is a big no no for me.

If true, yeah it's from the Ryan Lowe school of throwing them under a bus. I didn't see a tactical masterclass against Rovers, ruined by the players' lack of effort. I just saw a tired fucking mess.

It's frustrating that we only ever seem to have him and our best crosser of the ball, Vukcevic, on the pitch for 5 mins at any one time. Even when Smith was getting more meaningful minutes.
For his size and frame, he's crap in the air.
I agree with what Durutti is saying about the system but in the rare event of Smith gettin his nut on the ball for a header on goal, its either well wide or straight in the keepers arms.
Crap, get rid.

I don't think football is the same as any world of work when it comes to this though, as that could then be said about probably every single football manager. At least the vast majority. As some good managers go on really bad runs. So I would disagree. But I understand your point.

Most clubs have that issue with injuries nowadays as a lot is asked of footballers now. Especially in certain leagues where the intensity is high.

But I do think he does seem to struggle getting teams out of ruts. I don't think he's a shit manager because of that, as it's not easy to do when things are this bad, but it is a negative thing to have. Maybe that's why he loves draws so much 😂

Yeah, some managers have traits: remember Lowe getting scabby wins when he was about to get sacked? How Heck would love that 'skill' or Scouse luck now.

For the record, I'm actually not clamouring for the manager to be fired. I honestly don't care either way. If Ridsdale was replaced I think that would change the environment around the club more effectively. I also don't see a an obvious out of work replacement

We’ve spent most of the season in the top 6 and were 4th in January which hardly anyone predicted at the start of the season. I don’t believe you become a shit manager overnight.

It’s not just about PH though. Most players are shadows of what they were earlier in the season. It’s looking increasingly likely that something has gone on behind the scenes. We know Hecky struggles to control his temper.

It looks like he’s not able to turn it round so inevitably he’ll have to go probably over the summer. Someone else comes in and the cycle starts again. Meanwhile the owners get a free pass for another 12-18 months.

Then Hecky probably does an Alex Neil and does well at another club with owners that give a shit. Seen it all before.

Quite poetic really that we ended up being that win for him at Wigan after he got a few with us. Kept him in a job there for another month.

Disappointed he didn't do some knee slide celebration in front of the Town End as that's what football is all about 😂

Controversial but I think he is a good manager

Here me out

The board give him a tiny budget and he has to buy from that aswell as selling

He brings in a few quality loans who we all know don't really care
Then he has to get some free transfers who are free because they are surplus to requirements at there clubs.

The biggest problem is the hugh massive enormous lack of any investment from HEMMINGS AND CO
imagine being in his shoes !
You have to inherit an aging squad of some who are hanging on to sit on the bench and if anyone says they love the club Naaaa!!
Why should they!
They owe the club nothing at all like Brady and Potts etc

1/2 the team is league 1 the rest are mediocre championship
If we got to the prem we'd get our arses handed to us week in week out
You think it's bad now fuckkkkk!!

All we can hope for is it's a blip all team have them ,yes his actions are odd at times but what can we do

Ultimately we need to be bought out !

My reasoning for wanting him out is that this season has now, bizarrely, turned into one for survival. I don't have any belief he will turn things around and I don't know where our next point is coming from, let alone three!

I know it means 'same old, same old' in terms of changing manager but we need to salvage this season ASAP.

End of the day though, the ownership and Ridsdale remain our underlying problem.
Echo this Shabbagaz , not sure any manager can be successful under this ownership / Ridsdale , however we need a change as I do not believe he can turn this around , he looks a beaten man …

so PH is the best and should never take any blame?????
No not what I meant at all. You can’t seriously think though that PH is responsible for their amateur displays . They can’t go sulking like they have they owe the damned fans which is separate to their anger of PH and need to grow up and realise that.

I do have sympathy for PH.

People act as if he actively wanted to sign Smith, Thompson etc and it’s as if he signed them out of choice over better players.

Eveything stems back to the board and lack of investment.

This is the same manager we were lauding in January for getting us to within touching distance of the top two and now, following a joke of a January window we now sit talking about relegation.

PH does seem to be losing the plot right on cue as those who have gone before him did but I don’t blame him - I blame those above him
Exactly, you can blame the manager as much as you want but ultimately it’s these bloody owners and their puppet who should take the flack. They are the ones that allocate the budget which only allows us to buy poor quality players. Same inthe motoring industry, a Fiat ain’t going to perform like a Ferrari.

so it's all the players fault and nothing to do with selections, subs, tactics, motivation, man management all of which PH has proved useless at, oh forgot it is NEVER his fault.

Nope not what I said again. The players aren’t blameless you know and you can’t seriously believe they have given everything hell they have given very little. As for PH his team selections especially yesterday was bordering on neglect and his tactics are boring. The club is run very badly and the owners couldn’t care less. They are all to blame including the bratty players.

The managers job whether as a bare minimum is surely getting the players motivated and giving 100%. If they aren’t motivated or giving 100% constantly then drop them but it seems mosts players know however bad they are they will still be in the team or squad each week.
If a manager or coaching team can’t get the players motivated then it is time go

yesterday when 2 down and really needing to make positive changes PH brings on Potts, Brady and Smith leaving the Balkan trio on the bench, it is little wonder the players don't have any confidence in PH

Dear me these are fully grown men doing a dream job and getting paid handsomely but need motivation as well! How much motivation does your job afford you ?

Which comes back to the manager, if players aren’t given everything he should be on them to make sure they do or you are out of the door like Mads and Thor. Not keep playing them week in week out with no consequences.
Also feel players themselves need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and say am I doing the best I can and if not why not and what can i do to change it. Unfortunately I think most of the players know we are there ceiling and quite happy plodding along staying here for as long as possible topping up there retirement pot.
