Heckingbottom

Some short memories with Lowe, he was significantly worse and a complete cunt to boot.

Hecky needs binning though.

He was, and the football was far worse to watch. There have been games this season where we’ve played great, but the collapse since Jan is unbelievable.

I can’t see Heckingbottom surviving, but he’s not a twat like Lowe was.

I don’t think anybody has short memories under Lowe. We were awful.

However in Lowe’s two full seasons we had a chance (a very slim one) of making the play offs with five games remaining. We have dropped like a stone twice under Hecky.

To say we were significantly worse under Lowe is stretching it when our worst two finishes since promotion have been under our current manager.

The football was much worse to watch under Lowe, but his points record was better.

I didn't watch tonight as I was at the valley and had no intention to watch, so I cannot comment on the performance.

I'm still of the opinion we need to part ways at end of the season. Not even just for us but for Heckingbottom as well. I don't think he is a bad manager, he got a tune out of these cloggers up until Jan.

I do think we don't work together though, 20th last season and a rough estimate of 16/17th this season is just simply not good enough.

Comments saying it's worse than it was under Lowe is quite frankly recency bias, Lowe literally made me fall out of love with football.

Nice one. What was the question?
Filming was at Pinewood studios, June 6th, 2018. The question was, name 10 football teams from the previous season's premier league, that had the letter 'o' in its name. Quite easy really. All things considered, I'd say it was fixed heavily in our favour. They could've really screwed us over.

Answers were.

Liverpool
Everton
Tottenham
Stoke
Watford
West Brom
Bournemouth
Southampton
Huddersfield Town
Brighton.

Wow, that fell in your lap!

Was @Mighty Whites on your team? He collects the letter O.

Hopefully he pisses off to Barnsley, just pay him the difference on the remainder of his contract. He can't stay on here.

It’s not recency bias.

We finished 10th and 11th under Lowe. We also beat Blackburn away twice.

Under Hecky we finished 20th and are set to finish 17th. We also stunk the place out in every derby we have played under him.

People who are saying it’s worse now isn’t recency bias. They just ain’t blind.

I will also add Hecky has had a better squad to utilise this season than Lowe ever had.

Lowe's particular "approach" to management drove many fans, myself included, to the point of giving up on football completely. The constant stream of total bullshit, the "brand", "badges" and fisty pumps seems like a bad dream now. When things went well, as in that miracle start to the season, he could get away with it. At the end of the day he resembled a sort of a perversion of a demented soviet political commissar. A whole stream of meaningless platitudes and when the players predictably failed they were shot in the back of the head: metaphorically speaking of course.

Heckingbottom fits the accepted profile of a genuine football manager as opposed to a total charlatan. Nevertheless, there are serious issues. I would have to start with his personal disciplinary record, setting a very poor example all round. Then there is his rigid conservatism that makes us so easy to read for the opposition. Wedded to a boring uninspiring system and unstintingly committed to timed substitutions on the hour like the Trumpton clock, Heckingbottom has managed to be no improvement on someone who I don't really consider to be a football manager at all.

If he leaves at the end of the season, I would be sad for him that it didn't work. But I would be personally relieved.

Mirrors my view completely 👍

For me, the bubble has burst and his aura has evaporated. I’d wait and see what happens with the proposed take over, as they may want to bring their own team.

In the short term, I’d get rid of:
Osmajic (Discipline)
Whiteman (One dimensional)
Potts (Not good enough)
Lindsay (Not good enough)
Smith (No impact)
Hughes (Not good enough)
Storey (Not improved)
I would also add Brady, Walton ,Cornell and Thompson to the list.

Unfortunately, Heckingbottom’s second half of the season over the past 2 years has been unacceptable.

Football has become turgid and you see him and the players smiling when we’ve got beat, no-one is really arsed anymore.

Full reset needed.

The half season ticket marketing team do not like this…..

When you put it like that, it’s pretty damning.

Add in the fact it’s pretty miserable on the eye too and you can’t really make a compelling case for him to stay.

Under this ownership though, I’m not sure who else comes in. It’ll be another steady Eddie guy.
