Hi @stf4ever
What wonderful news - children truly are a blessing, a real gift and one that will never stop giving (or taking when they get older 🙄)
I hope your journey is progressing well and again if you would let me you are very much in my thoughts and prayers.

Here’s a little bit of a thought from what your beautiful Darcie may just be thinking right now:-
“If you feel like you're doing nothing now but giving me love, you're doing everything. With unconditional love from your newborn baby”

Must go. I am compiling an open letter to the board about the terrible state of the cuisine in the corporate area, on Tuesday night to my horror I found we were served Aldi prawns in lieu of fresh Scottish langoustines. Now that does show an issue regarding funding and strategic intent
God bless your family
Will keep checking in on your progress

It means a lot, Edgy, thank you.

Struggling post round 2 currently. Oral thrush has come back and I'm absolutely drained, calves are killing just getting up to go to the toilet. Can't even hold Darcie for more than a minute without feeling exhausted.

Have to say the worst bit about this is the guilt that you feel towards everybody else. Darcie, my partner, my parents etc. Just wish I wasn't putting them all through this.

Obviously you know this deep down but none of this is your fault, although I know what you mean from personal experience. Like Edgy, my prayers are still with you that you’ll soon start to feel better.

If I may offer some unsolicited advice ?
The love you feel for Darcie I am sure in such a short time has brought to you just how unconditional such love is, you would do literally anything for her
Well, that unconditional love only ever grows so be assured that your entire family will want nothing more than for you to focus on yourself and your journey, physical fibre will come naturally but the moral and mental fibre takes more doing as guilt is a perfectly natural emotion but one that takes up a lot of energy that could be directed elsewhere.
That load of words was a load of kind stuff that basically says stop worrying and concentrate upon yourself - anything else is just unnecessary worry
Oh and eat chocolate for no other reason that it tastes nice

Good advice from the boys above.

You’ve absolutely nothing to be guilty about. Guilt will waste your much needed energy. Fuck guilt. You can apologise to everyone you want to when you’ve made a full recovery.
Use that energy from the guilt to hold that dear babe for an extra minute every day.

And just for your information pal, I think you’ll find everybody is looking up at you in awe at your strength, courage and determination.

God bless @stf4ever

Just checking in, how’s things ?

Been a difficult time of it lately. Treatment getting more and more difficult and preventing me from being the partner/father I'd wish to be.

However, both my partner and daughter have been confirmed as having covid, so I'm currently in isolation from the pair of them which isn't easy, but does somewhat remove the guilt.

I've completed over 95% of my hours though, two more top ups to go and hopefully that will be the end of my treatment. Can't wait for it all to be over.

The very fact you think about not being able to be the husband/father you wish to be, only indicates that you are everything you need to be, and that is the best you can be. I hope your recovery is just as amazing.
