What do we do with a player who looks unhappy? Give him more game time to find some form or admit that we should try to sell this window whilst there's any potential money to be recouped?

Been looking unhappy for a long time now.

Very good player but he’s definitely lost his mojo here.

If there’s a decent offer i think it would be good for both player and PNE to allow him to move elsewhere

I’m going against the grain. The guy hasn’t had a run of games for quite some time. I think he has something to offer and I thought he played well partnering Devine tonight. The problem is that we don’t get the ball to him earlier enough. Tonight he was playing just behind Jebbison. Most of the first half he was just chasing & harassing the Wrexham back four which is not his natural game. We changed tactics in the second half and we saw a better player.

Selling him.

I like him and thought when he first joined that we had a player that might absolutely walk this league. But since then he’s just regressed further and further. Lost all confidence shooting from distance and trying outrageous passes, now just tries to walk the ball into the goal. Poor workrate is a myth, he works extremely hard off the ball, but for whatever reason he just cannot seem to influence games enough for me. He’s clearly not offering it in training either because we’re prioritising injured loanees over him.

Just cut our losses

He isn’t anywhere near as poor as half the people on here seem to think.

He wasn’t great tonight, but he wasn’t shit. He had a few decent moments, got a shot on target, made some decent runs. Harrison Armstrong, did some good stuff and also made a few mistakes but that’s all forgiven.

He’s barely played all season, it’s unfair to expect him to come in and be on top form, imo.

I’ll wish him well if he moves on, but I don’t see the point in slagging him off every game when he’s our player. He’s played a total of about 5 games this season, not made any huge errors and has scored a couple of good goals.

He’s not Ben Woodburn ffs, he really was shit.

Same with me and in recent memory I don't think I've wanted a player to succeed more than with Mads. It's sad to watch him decline so much from that early potential. Reluctantly I agree selling is probably the best for him and the club.

Yeah yeah yeah seems a nice fella everyone wishes him well. Shite at this level has been consistently for a long period, sell?!? Lol release more likely.

Great fella some skills zero spuds. Unfortunately. Not complex.

I've always been a big fan of Mads but it's become quite clear that he has lost his way over the past year.

In and out of the aide and although there's been the odd good performance, he really hasn't staked a claim to be a regular starter.

Questions have been raised about his attitude - some may be justifiable but he doesn't do himself any favours like when he was subbed tonight.

I think overall he's always been inconsistent but sadly I've not been overly convinced with him for a while.

I dearly hope he gets his mojo back and I think it's right we need to ask questions of him.

Reluctantly, I would look to sell him IF (and that's a big if) we can find someone who is better to replace him. Easier said than done though.

The number of decent games Mads has had in his time at PNE is in single digits, maybe can even be counted on one hand. For every decent nutmeg, flick etc he has given the ball away and look disinterested far more times.

Happy to see him move on.

Mads simply isn’t very good however, i dont believe the formation suits him in anyway.
He is a number 10 who likes a ‘free role’ so we would need to play a 4321 or 4231 to best utilise him. Issue is i don’t think we, or many teams at this level, can carry what can be classed as a luxury player - or in my eyes a passenger

Do what we always do.

Give him a contract extension and then spend 18months complaining we can't bring in a replacement until he leaves.
That’s when he becomes good. We give him 2 more years then he sorts it out, like Hughes and Storey. At least by that logic, I’m somehow hoping lol…

We’ll either sell him for buttons to a club abroad or he’ll leave for nothing in 18 months. Never really been impressed by him, though he has shown good flashes occasionally - especially during his first year.

Either way, we are looking at another financial loss on a player whom we spent a fair bit on (by our paltry standards).

I think it is obvious that Hecky does not rate him for his system and Mads has simply lost any kind of mojo, if you will, that he used to have for our PNE. I see no reason to just send him on loan unless their is an obligation to buy; on the flip side, we are not great in depth already so can we really afford to offload him?

Regardless, I will be shocked if he is at the club at the start of the 26-27 season.

Don’t think he’s fit into any system we’ve ever played. He would fit into a team that’s good enough to have a luxury player like him and think he would do well given that freedom.
On his good days he has good moments, great pass for an assist etc but I can’t remember him influencing a game throughout.
Just doesn’t fit with our way of playing.

Showed more Passion after being subbed, than when he was on the Pitch, Seems to be a thing at the Moment. Offer him the option to improve and get back in the Squad or we let him find a club and sell him. Give him the choice. If he wants to be here fine, but The Passion off the Pitch needs to match it on the Pitch.

I'm not to fussed if he stays or goes, lost his Mojo, not putting in the performance and we need players committed to the cause because our Chance is slipping away by players thinking they better than the rest and not putting in the performance. I'd like to see us build a squad thats willing to compete with each other and not one that shocks us when a player is rightfully dropped like Smith was.
