Is Lowe evolving?

Is Lowe evolving?

I'm unsure that "evolving" is the right word. I'm pro Ryan Lowe, but accept that he's done him few favours with the fan base, particularly with his "brand" bollocks.

If he had a more dogmatic personality, telling us and the wider football audience, that his job was about getting results with a restricted budget rather than acting like Bertie big bollocks, he'd have far fewer critics at Deepdale. We as nobbers know what shite is served up before us, week in and week out. Its often a hard, tedious and frustrating watch. Just tell the watching world how it actually is Ryan, rather than than promote a "brand" which is blatantly not what you're selling.

In terms of results, I've no issues. A great start to the season, 7 points gained and credit to you and the players Ryan. I'm in no doubt that everyone is giving 100%, and that's all I ask for.

The Brand was always a fiction - it hasn't evolved, it's simply been debunked.

We're at that stage in our Championship "evolution" (8 years in, the promoted players all but gone, the squad now reliant on loans) that we have to grind the games out pragmatically - and so far this season, we've come away with good results doing that.

The worry is that the owners decide we don't really need strengthening after all - that maybe we can get to January and see how things look then.
Or let’s flip that … when we wouldn’t stump up for Rhian Brewster, people complained we didn’t use the loan market - we are now VERY good in the loan market

Steps in the right direction for me. Good results and the quality of football is better than last season.

You can only beat what's in front of you but I'm curious to see how it goes when things get tough. The big problem last season was the consistent lack of goals at home. If our problems only occur infrequently, then we'll do well.

Personally I like to leave it 10 games into the season before really judging how things are going for us. At this early stage it's hard to judge how well we're doing in comparison to everyone.

Our results are still positive though, we just need our owners to invest. Good results can't be maintained without investment

Well, this summer's loan moves have been a washout so far.

But the point is, we are now forced to use the loan market, because we lack the basic squad quality we need, and won't go out and buy it. The parallels with the dying days of our last stay in the Championship are obvious, but let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Cause i dont gas up the most recent 90 minutes
All we can do is take one game at a time and hope the improved results continue. Bristol City and Sunderland are decent sides looks like Wednesday will struggle. Injuries and lack of recruitment haven’t helped matters.
Good to get early points in the bank in case of a wobble but we don’t need to be scared of too many teams. Early days.

Revolving probably. If he comes good he will probably be gone, if things go bad he will get the boot. Good result today tho . Best to judge him in January time. He does need support re signings at moment but come injuries & a few bad runs of results which is inevitable at some point then I will hold my judgement. Seems to talk a good game but juries out for me til Jan/Feb

Yep, loans are supposed to be the icing on the cake and not the cake itself.

Early days for me that said results so far miles better than what I had us down for. I will however give him a lot of credit for his management of Best, the mundane safe thing to have done would be to shunt Hughes or Cunningham there but takes some kahunas to put Best in and keep him on when Roberts had the better of him.

Choice of subs seems more thought about too, bringing Whatmough on strengthens the defence for the inevitable pressure in the last 15 mins.

The Sunderland win was a good result but worth noting that they were playing with Dack up front rather than a striker. Think they're still looking for a striker in the transfer market

Certainly a good start to the season, especially with the squad we have, but if we lose 3 on the trot, this thread will change somewhat. Too early to tell regarding the evolving question, will give another answer in September, definitely a much better start than I expected, I actually thought we would get hammered from the beginning of the league season, but we haven't and things are looking positive.

Such a boring negative poster, behind enemy lines lasher who’s embarrassed he’s being shown up even this early into the season.

Swansea is another test, 3 points against them and it’s the best start to a season for a long time, even under Simon Ferguson Grayson and Alex Guardiola Neil.

It's not a good sign when you have to play the man, not the ball.
