Nothing but well wishes from me. He looked the real deal when he first burst into the side but never rediscovered that confidence after his first dip in form. A shame. Hope he can be a success at Fleetwood.

On a side note, I met him once in person and he’s a really nice lad. Humble and respectful, clearly well brought up. I know his dad will have read stuff over the last few months that probably hurt a bit but it’s a fresh start for him now and a chance to properly launch his career.

Yes, wish him all the best for his future career, from everyone on here @Jerry

He will definitely look more comfortable not having to attack a right lot, but the point remains he’s not a great defender.

Wish him well though.

Players come and players go, in all the times I saw this young man play he never seemed to get passed the half way line before a sideways pass or a back pass to square one. Time to move on and in that he has done the right thing.

Shame about him leaving, thought he looked the dogs bollocks when he first came on the scene, personally thought he would of been the perfect fit to play in Ben Davies’s position when he left, seems a bit odd he was never tried there?

May well have been tried there in training and just wasn’t upto it so never got a chance to do it in the first team

Good move for all concerned, a drop down may be the real making of him, seems to have plenty of talent but suffers with confidence, the lower level may enable him to build some, maybe come back and haunt us!! Good luck to him.

Though this seemed inevitable since it became obvious Josh isn’t cut out to be a LWB. I am still a little sad to see a lad who always gave it his all go. Fleetwood seems a really good fit for him right now and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him back in the Championship as a centre back with a good lung run of first team games behind him

How? That would involve Earl losing a shit load of money on his existing deal here unless Fleetwood paid him a massive signing on fee (which they won't have the funds to do). This is why we would have paid him up.
Absolutely nothing to stop us giving him a one-off end of season bonus equivalent to one year of his contract. Or for us to pay Fleetwood to take him off our books for one year of his wages where he gets that as a signing on bonus. Plenty of ways.

Might be wrong but i thought his loan spell at Bolton was as a Centre Back, anyway wherever it was he played it didn't really work out for him and from that and his other loan spells he never seemed to come back with much confidence.
A shame he never really came through in the way that many of us where willing him too.
Like many others i wish him well and all the best for the rest of his career.

There is something to stop us - the player and/or Fleetwood may not have been interested in that sort of deal.

Think BCD season was time for him to step up and establish himself in the team but it never happened so not too shocked.

He'll have a solid career in league one I'm sure and might even play championship again at some point given his age.
