Agreed

In my mind the Nogan/Macken partnership varied things slightly though. I feel like there were a lot of balls in towards the chest of Macken (essentially 10) rather than the head of Nogan (9). The ball would then usually go to the nearest winger. Normally it was about 9 flicking to 10 (old numbers). My memory tells me Moyes liked Macken to bring in the wingers more and then Nogan to be on the end of the crosses.

I do not like the new systems. Watching Manchester City in person was depressing. If they cannot be inspirational with their resource then what hope for the rest?
Seem to remember Nogan was great at jumping and then somehow managing to duck his head under the ball! 😂

Cracking goal against Arsenal though!

Halcyon days indeed.

The Arsenal game was frustrating because it got moved to the Monday night and I had school in Leicestershire the next day. Same with the 1-0 win at Maine Road. Very rude of the TV people.

It all proves the versatility of a front 2 though. Would Osmajic or Erabi be the ducking under the ball one?

Is Erabi the real thing?
I wasn't convinced last week, but I had little to go on except my gut, but after 20 minutes on Saturday I think he could be the real deal 🫰.
What I really liked about Erabi on Sat was this. At half time the subs including Burgzorg were really half hearted when the fitness coach came out to do the warm up drills. Erabi however completed each set fully. He just looked much more professional than the others. Might just be Burgzorg’s demeanour but it looked like he couldn’t be arsed.

Erabi has basically spent the last year on the sidelines. I get the impression he's desperate to play and perform after a lackluster season in Belgium, which should have been his big move out of the Swedish league.

It looked like a big weight off him when he scored. Although I believe his time in Genk started in similar fashion. Here's hoping he can continue the goalscoring and performances here.

It is. His workrate is absolutely fine but he’ll get pelters and called lazy by a chunk of our fanbase purely because of his gait and body language, because some fans can’t tell the difference. Same as DJ and Mads

Tbf i dont think i've ever seen a sub warming up at half time with any enthusiasm, whoever they play for!

Have a look at his YT highlights reels. Very much back to goal tidy stuff and using his strength.

I'm not sure how many goals are in him but he looks really composed. A massive upgrade on Smith already, surely.

I actually agree with Randall though, I don't know if two up top actually helps us much. We played it loads last year and it's turgid.

What we need, and I say this so often I may as well add it as a sig at this point, is shiny new, beautiful sparkly wingers. Wingers are essentially football 😂

Shame we couldn’t start the game with him because we had to shoehorn the useless Milly into yet another game

I felt bad for Milly, honestly, he was running his socks off, but the entire first half was long ball and he just couldn't thrive there.

Obviously the screw up on squaring it will be the main moment for him today though, and that was frustrating, because it was the right, unselfish decision! Just bad execution.

7 offsides and the brain dead passing decision. Dont feel remotely sorry for him, he’s absolutely useless. I’d be offering the Turkish squad a cut price deal if they sign him now
