I remember Wrexham scoring unintentionally from the halfway line when they we’re supposed to give the ball back to us, the ref didn’t know what to do but eventually disallowed itFantastic stuff, hadn't see that video before.
What great days they were and what a team. Kidd and Jackson solid at the back, Rankine and Mckenna ratting in the middle, Gregan bossing everywhere, Cartwright and Eyres flying down the wings, Macken and Kurt up front.
Everyone playing with a swagger and a smile on their face, and it rubbed off on the supporters.
That team would thrash the current lot, even though they would all be in their 50s and 60s now 🙂
The only one of our current team i would swap for that one would be Iversen for Leadboots in goal, but at that point Lucas was an England u21 international.

I could be wrong but I thought it was a drop ball on the halfway line and the Wrexham player kicked the ball first and it went into our goal but if I remember correctly drop balls were indirect and that is why it wasn’t givenI remember Wrexham scoring unintentionally from the halfway line when they we’re supposed to give the ball back to us, the ref didn’t know what to do but eventually disallowed it

It shows it in the highlights that were posted earlier. It was an uncontested drop ball which is not indirect, the goal should’ve been given technically.I could be wrong but I thought it was a drop ball on the halfway line and the Wrexham player kicked the ball first and it went into our goal but if I remember correctly drop balls were indirect and that is why it wasn’t given
I was there, and this is the only thing I remember, don't recall any of the goals from the game. They showed it on the local news on the following Monday too, in the days when all goals/incidents weren't really shown on TVI remember Wrexham scoring unintentionally from the halfway line when they we’re supposed to give the ball back to us, the ref didn’t know what to do but eventually disallowed it
I also think Paul Sparrow played in this, although he didn't make a lot of appearances for us..
Was anyone else at the game at The Racecourse, must have been late 70s/early 80s, when the PA guy mispronounced our legendary goal scorer as "Alex Spruce".
The North End fans started chanting "Sprucie...Sprucie...", much to Alex's amusement 🤣

£10 tickets again, think I’ll go to this one. Didn’t go to Leicester and can’t make Ipswich so will be my first home game of the season.
“Wrexhams shit, the grounds a dive, come on Preston, give us five” I’ll never forget that fella 🤣 We were on the front row that match to the left of the goal as you look at it.
Doesn't look like many season ticket holders have bothered with this one.
We didn't used to.I'm always surprised that they keep open all stands for early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
