Had a very good first 18 months and a awful last 18 months.

Like Brady and Woodburn I fail to see why Lowe keeps having him involved.

I like Ryan and do not doub't his commitment or work rate but just don't think he is good enough at this level.

Maybe it is the way he is being utilised that is the issue, playing him alongside Whiteman doesn't work.

Posted on the other thread. They were both undoubtedly shit. But how much of that is due to the lack of movement or pace ahead of him? Can't pass to people who don't move into space, ultimately.

Yeah. It goes without saying that Ben Whiteman isn’t suited to playing in a team that surrenders possession and smacks the ball from back to front when they do have it.

This. Ledson is shit, Whiteman is overrated.

Whiteman just has decent passing stats because he constantly just moves the ball about without actually doing anything with it. Sideways, backwards, show for the ball 25 yards from your own goal facing the wrong way, rinse and repeat. He's vastly overrated.

Ledson we know all about and have done for years. Always gives 100%, obviously a great lad but sadly the quality for this level is just not there and the age he is now, it never will be.

Look at some of the things Alan Browne has done this season, these two aren't capable of even dreaming of it. I can't actually believe that at one point I wanted Whiteman to be captain over Browne, what a fucking idiot!

Agree with this, he gets more stick than he deserves (only IMO of course), but he is definitely at his level and maybe slightly above, he does, however give his all and IMO is a decent squad Player for a Club of our size.
I would agree though that he is or should not be a first 11 pick.
Also i don't think he is inferior to this Seasons Whiteman - they just can't play together.

Ledson would struggle to pass to five players stretched across the pitch. Both accuracy and distance often lacking. Those lovely floated diagonals….
 
I think it’s quite simple and all down to the manager really.
You can’t play with a back 5 and then have two defensive midfielders sitting in front of them.
If you count the keeper then you have 8 defensive players and only three offensive players.
With this set up you’re likely to go through a full game having only one shot on target😬

I'd "get it" & would try my best too.. However, I'm 54 and my legs have gone. Sadly, as likeable & can talk a good game Ledson is, he is miles off what we need in the engine room at this level. My heart sinks when I see him in the starting line up, as I can predict the uncreative fayre that is about to be served. I shouldnt feel like that about any PNE player taking to the field. 50 yard "trademark" hit & mainly miss balls are an embarrassment to be frank. It has to be said that his game has gone backwards during his time at PNE. As much as he is part of the furniture at PNE, his level is League 1. Lets hope its not with us

It wasn’t the highest of bars and we know Ledson is consistently poor where the others have a good game in them.
