M55 Incident 10/8

The roller coaster of emotion continued today with a fantastic 2 hours with George.
Happy, smiling, loving gave his old grandad a massive boost.
Sat in Costa Fulwood 2hrs and he is learning banter with his dad and grandad.
Biggest and best hug ive ever had.

Tomorrow evening will be normal but different. His dad and I have planned tea with him ( bloody chicken nuggets 🤷‍♂️)
Will then walk around the docks showing him were the banana boats used to dock that my dad took me to see.
Will tell him about his mummy and point to the Stars.
Met some old friends today by chance who knew Rachel before her troubles helped us immencely.
Talking/typing does help us and again Paul & Sharon at The Mary O'Gara foundation have been so supportive and their work deserves recognition.

Night all and hope our story is helping others as that is what it is all about now

A Bristol City fan but long time friend to Rachel, and her parents as a result on the back of a few visits as a visiting fan. Helps that I now live in Manchester, with my wife and son who both loved Rachel so much too having become closer over time with more convenient travel. Rachel came to my wedding just last year, she was mega, a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Kind, caring & loving girl, her family and son were her world. The most amazing woman gone far too soon. Her wonderul boy will keep her heart going!

You're very welcome, my heart goes out to all the family, it is a broken heart which has struggled to keep the tears away the last 6 days, and still feels utterly raw. I've got to let these tears out at some point but the love, respect and care I have for Rachel will never dissappear, nor will the many cherished memories of great times spent with Rachel over the years!

12th place trophy, after yesterday, I'd snap your your hand off for a 13th place tbh! 🤷‍♂️🤣
 
Hi everyone,
Due to an unforseen and untimely illness not posted any updates since Sunday and wanted to further share.
Last evening, later than originally planned we told George his mummy had gone to heaven and was now with The Angels and Great Grandad Roland playing dominos.
KFC popcorn chicken duly dispatched we walked and talked about the dock basins.
He was facinated about the Banana boat stories from my child hood and we walked (limped) to The Bull nose to remember his mum.
He gave us strength although clearly upset, he was happy his mummy was no longer poorly and at peace.
In fact remarkably he told us he loved us and thanked us for all we do. He's 7 and has a pure soul.
I Gave him a lapel badge (a hand holding a heart) to wear from the Mary O'Gara foundation to remind him of the good times with his mum. He wore it all evening then placed it next to his bed and said good night to his mum pointing at the stars.
He had talked at his other Grandparents openly about his mum which was good.
A Lot to take in for the young man but he did so with grace and he helped me and his dad tell him, truely remarkable.
The next few days we will wrap our arms around him as he processes the enormity of whats happened and the tears will flow but so will the smiles
So proud of you George.

Bloody hell Roland, what an absolutely remarkable young man.

Through all of the sadness, it's heartwarming to read of the love he is showing and being showed.

Tough times ahead, but as you say, there will be lots of smiles too.

It is with a very heavy heart that my daughter succumbed to her mental health issues and took her own life Monday evening.
She was a loving mother to a 7 year old and we are all devastated.
I have been frustrated with the support services for the past 12 months and I have asked for a review.

Mental health is a killer just like cancer but has a stigma attached to it unfairly.

Can I thank Lancashire Constabulary for their kindness and professionalism in dealing with the tragic incident on the M55 at Fulwood.
To the kind hearted person who called the police and looped back to stay with her I am forever in your debt.

I have only just read this, Gerona, and can't tell you how sorry I am to hear this. My eldest lad struggles with mental health issues and I know how difficult it is being a parent of that though this is just unimaginable. Passing you all my sincere condolences and I know she will be up there now in the arms of her grandma and grandad x
 
It's such a shame that it takes awful things and real adversity happening for peoples (and humanitys) true brilliance and character to be shown for how incredible it can be.

If it's appropriate for me to say it then that will be one ever lasting legacy of your daughter.

As others have already said, what a remarkable young man and family.
