Confirmed Mads Frøkjær joins Brøndby IF

Showed glimpses of a top championship midfielder then he just seemed to hit a brick wall .Good luck to the lad ,he will probably come good in more familiar surroundings were the game is played at a slower pace.

Writing was on the wall wasn't it? Talented boy and an absolute joy to watch when on form. A handful of outstanding performances which were unfortunately massive outliers.

Nice move for him to a league that suits him more (at a big club too) and we basically get our money back.

Good piece of business for all involved. Farewell, Mads and thank you.

As soon he started getting frustrated and sulking with the manager it was over. Too lightweight but had some very good moments

That away game to Burnley last year when he was the best player on a pitch full for 10m signings 🥲

Mixed feelings on Frokjaer.

Talented footballer but didn't seem to have the stamina or heart required for English football.

Good luck to him back in Denmark.

Right move really, he's been here close to three years and is dropping down the pecking order. Good to cash in before his final year too and reinvest it in someone younger.

There's been a few excellent performances (Norwich away last season for example or the late goal against Southampton this year). At times some of his work was unnoticed, including by the previous manager who suggested he didn't track back enough. He's undoubtedly got talent and technical ability but there was never really the consistency and no physicality appreciate for this division.

Not the worst, not the best, he goes with my best wishes and I hope he smashes it back at home. He observed himself the Danish leagues are more possession focused, so hopefully it works to his advantage.

The first time I saw him was pre-season at Fleetwood.

Even then, he felt like the flair player we had been dreaming of, after having been starved of any kind of creativity during Loweball.

Mads then found himself enduring Lowe's managerial sulks because he didn't track back enough. (Which was never his game)

And then, under Hecky's high intensity high pressure game, he came up lacking in meeting his levels. Not for the want of trying.

Teammates, with the exception of Millar, were rarely on his wavelength.

One of North End's nearly men.

A different manager? A different time? Maybe it would have been different.

As it stands, he was an inconsistent maverick during an era of turgid monotony. I liked him for at least trying to do something different.

Good luck Mads. 👏👏👏

Agree. Really like the bloke but never suited to championship football. Had some great moments but Physically weak and nowhere near consistent enough for a team, hopefully, challenging for a top 6 place
Good luck Mads.

Good Luck Mads.

Showed glimpses under Lowe but doesn't quite fit in now with better and more energy in midfield.

Boyhood club, so happy for him to get his move there, hopefully it works out for him

Mads himself talks about his move to Brøndby IF.

- I was born and raised in Hvidovre and have been coming to Brøndby Stadium since I was little. My parents are big Brøndby fans. Especially my mother, who is from Brøndby. So it's a club that has been a part of my entire childhood.

- That's why it will be special to be able to pull the blue-and-yellow jersey over your head and step out into a packed Brøndby Stadium to a real roar. I think that's when childhood memories come back, and I'll probably pinch myself in the arm one more time, says Frøkjær.

IMO his grace tended to hide the fact he was working hard- and he was stronger than he appeared. Tags of lazy or lightweight were misplaced imo.

A player who lifted the heart, just to see him moving with the ball. Somehow not quite worked out and that was probably affecting his form latterly. A good chance he becomes a star back at Brondby - I will be one of those who would love to see it. Good luck Mads.
