Mads

Why do people keep saying we are suddenly going to collapse and get relegated next season? It defies any logic. There’s not going to be a massive turnover of players and there will be a couple of decent enough players brought in. Teams coming up are nowt special, teams coming down aren’t giants. It will be exactly the same as this season, as it has been for the vast majority of the seasons since we came back. We will get between 60 and 65 points and finish between 10th and 12th.

That’s hardly exciting, I know. But to say we will suddenly plummet to relegation has no logical basis. We are not in turmoil and not going to make sweeping changes.
Because we're woeful, and in decline. If we get 50 points next season I'd be both surprised and delighted.

Out of curiosity, what do you believe tye club will do over the course of the next 4 months in order to retain (let alone improve), our current situation/ performance?

I don't think it does defy any logic, without our exceptional but somewhat lucky start, we could have been at best lower mid table, we are likely to lose some influential players. Teams coming down have parachute payments, Portsmouth, Derby and possibly Bolton, will be at least as strong as us.
Lowe has managed to overachieve this Season, despite his tactical inflexibility.

If the owners don't show some ambition in the summer then people will vote with their feet , I know I will...
But they’ve signed some decent players. Osmajic? Frokky? We’ve got Riis? Millar?
We just need 4 new defenders and to keep browne. OHH yeah, the main one..? Lowe out

Mads Frokjaer is the most important player in our squad. Without him, we go down next season 😐

Three things need to happen if we are to stay in the Championship after next season:

1) Lowe must go. Time up. Fed up of him playing players out of position and his excuses after every game.
2) If Ridsdale has any ambition, he needs to do whatever it takes to get David Moyes in, there’s some unfinished business that needs to be finished 👀
3) Assuming the first two happen, the team next season must be built around Mads, so we can absolutely play to his strengths.

Do that, get rid of the deadwood in the squad, make some

We’re not in decline. We are exactly where we’ve always been since we came back up. Please don’t think I’m happy with that. I’m frustrated and a bit bored. Was coming over for the Leicester game but no way I’m pissing away over £100 on that now.

Under this board/owner we will never do anymore. But it’s hugely illogical to think we’ll suddenly plummet. We’ll clear out a few (and cause early uproar by giving Cunningham a new contract) and replace them with slightly better players. There’ll be a couple of decent signings to replace the likes of Millar (who’s actual final goal/assists contributions are definitely replacable, although I completely agree he has been wasted in our inflexible formation).

We’ll be fine and just chug along. Whether that will maintain crowds is a different matter but I think the real influence on that will be the new Sky deal.

Until Revitt sells up and Ridsdale moves on, nowt will change.

Honestly think we have one of the best midfield/attackers in the division.
The inability of Lowe on how to utilise them is actually so fucked it’s unreal.
Our defence is piss poor, granted. 4 new defenders and a new manager and we should be right up there.

a gradual and continuous loss of strength, numbers, quality, or value.

We tick all of those boxes.

Incidentally, there will be no deal between the EFL and EPL while the moronic PR remains a significant conduit in such negotiations. He has to be put out to pasture immediately, he's harming PNE and circa 65 other EFL clubs, PNE should be ashamed to be associated with him.

Mads was really poor at Birmingham.

Since then he's been on the bench for Watford and QPR. No goals and barely a chance created in either.

I think that sums up Lowe a bit. Poor performance from a mercurial attacker and he's then benched for must win away games and someone like Ledson is brought back in.

I know it's different positions in the midfield area but it's still the same mentality of just doing enough in league systems but never really rolling the dice or taking enough risks. It just permutates through the club year in year out.

Anyway he's improved as the season has gone on so think he'll be a standout next season in the division. The crucial part is he has the required quality around him in the final third and that's not a given with Millar and Riis.

With respect, if you genuinely think that you don’t watch much of the Championship. I can think of at least 10 teams that have better midfields and attacks than us

I fully expect Mads to want out this summer if the club persist with Lowe. I also don't think Millarvwill sign if he's here and Browne certainly won't re-sign if he's here

Browne just might fancy a fresh challenge regardless as this is the last big payday of his career. Basle are more likely to price the club out of a move as I do think Millar has enjoyed it here and will want to play in England permanently.

I remember last year there were endless posts that Whiteman despised Lowe and he was leading player delegations to the owner to get him sacked after a bad defeat at Boro. With six months left he happily signs a contract extension.....

Lowe says some poor stuff in interviews but we only get a brief insight into his relationship with the squad from that rather than the day to day stuff on the training ground and handling personal matters.

We have one of the best set of attacking midfielders/attackers in the division? If that’s worded better. The inability to use them correctly is a joke. Milly/Riis and Kean with McCann, Frokky, Whiteman, Browne and Millar is ridiculous.

Absolute nonsense on 10 better midfields and attacks. We’re what? 11th? With the worst 2nd worse defence in the league.
We haven’t scored many goals because of lowes absolute inability to use our attacking players to their strengths and constantly feels the need to set up defensively. We should be playing attacking football and be winning 4-3. Or sign some defenders.

Lowe is not the problem…the man who selected Lowe is the problem….and the only ones who can change things are the ones allow that man to do the selecting.
I disagree. They are both part of the same problem.

Riddler isn't picking the team and picking the ridiculous tactics and subs.

However lowe is having to work with a paper thin squad which is looking like it's going to get even thinner soon.

The whole situation is fucked

Mads, Browne, Riis and Millar (if we can sign him should be the offensive core of this team and yet we utilise all of them wrong. At times they've all individually carried this team.

Check Clinton Baptistery here🙄

Lottery numbers for this week as well pal seeing as you’re confidently predicting the future.

We have some good players in the squad, the additions last summer have strengthened us, a few more signings of the same calibre and the squad could be very competitive in this division. One thing is important though and needs to be worked on by the coaching staff and the manager, is the team spirit, the importance of the group wanting to succeed together, and aim for success. That feeling will go if the team have little faith in the manager, once the feeling starts that he is a prick then it will destroy the mentality of the team, I hope this hasn't happened with Alan Browne, if the new additions to the squad and those already here, see a loss of belief in the Captain then we are fucked, and Lowe has no chance of making it work.

If I was a player in the North End squad, (never could have happened as I was a not very good defender), and had to listen to the crap that Lowe spouts in his post-match interviews, and most of the stuff he speaks about to the press, I would not have much faith in him, as what he says half the time is a load of bollocks, and he doesn't appear to speak positively about the squad, most of his interviews are awful, sometimes embarrassing. If I was a squad member and listened to him, I would be thinking 'I wish he would shut the fuck up'.

Well if we are to lose Millar and Browne, that's a massive blow, and there's no guarantee we will bring in close to the same quality.

Numbers wise, we are lucky to be as high up the table as we are, given how little we create, and how managers who figure us out tend to put a lot of goals past us.

We finish 12th in a season where we've been lucky and outperformed our stats, where will we be if we come down to average, or worse, an unfortunate season?
Exactly a lot of the games this season have been shocking. How can we take points when the current manager thinks a game plan has been followed with absolutely no shots at all let alone on target! Sooner or later, keep playing a system that we don’t have the players for and putting them in unnatural positions to suit it, does not make a good and successful team, it makes a poor and frustrated one as the evidence is showing. If people think that won’t eventually undo us they are deluded.

Yes, it’s entirely logical we’re in a decline - all you have to do is look at the results since that early season spell. As things stand, it looks like we’re losing our captain and biggest influence and the only player with any real pace in Millar and being stuck with this manager. Frokjaer can’t do it on his own.

If only people hadn’t been fooled by the small upturn after Swansea.

Frustrated and bored…..that’s how I feel.

I don’t think I will renew to watch much of the same rubbish.

Do that, get rid of the deadwood in the squad, make some smart signings (including Millar) and maybe, just maybe, we rip the league apart. Otherwise, we go down. Club have some big decisions to make over the next few weeks. I’m a little nervous 😕
We’ve more chance of getting Alex Ferguson in as next manager than (ever) rehiring David Moyes.
