As far as i know i dont think any PNE manager has ever lasted this long at the club with such a poor win ratio so there are no statistics to compare this too.I’ve held off calling for sacking, but it looks completely untenable for Heckingbottom now.
Out of interest, has any manager (anywhere) ever managed to turn around an extended slump and win ratio as poor as ours is?
I can’t think of one.
He’s past the tipping point for me.
Poll Manager Poll
Shame about McCallOut now with McCall and Murphy
Proper football experience.
In fact, I thought we had a fantasticcombination of management.
Reminds me of the final days of Alex Neil.As far as i know i dont think any PNE manager has ever lasted this long at the club with such a poor win ratio so there are no statistics to compare this too.
He didn’t have a Scooby or whatever
Head had gone, but didn’t receive the backing.
He’ll do really good in with this squad. They had some real fight in them in the first half.

If I was still working and I produced results that he has, I'd have been asked to leave, simple.
A new management team is needed pronto.
Anyone got any word on if they are even considering getting rid?

In terms of results? Yeah you could say that.Reminds me of the final days of Alex Neil.

But performances? They're absolutely nothing alike. We'd gone very, very stale under AN (my favourite PNE manager), to the point where we were hardly entering the opposition's box during a game.
Whereas we've not played poorly the last few games. Definitely deserved more, but ultimately it's a results business!

An incomplete performance gets you the same as a zero performance. I think we’ve got what we deserved over the last few games, largely due to Heckingbottom’s decisions. In terms of results? Yeah you could say that.

The only crumb of comfort is that a single weak link in the dugout is fairly straightforward to fix.
I thought he set up well last night at Watford. It’s his stubborn timing of substituting and regularly being tactically outplayed during games which are alarming

Fair enough. My argument is the manager has cost us points by insisting on playing Lindsay as much as he has.An incomplete performance gets you the same as a zero performance. I think we’ve got what we deserved over the last few games, largely due to Heckingbottom’s decisions.
But let's get it right here. We didn't lose the game last night because Offiah went over to the left. We lost because we missed good chances, Devine set them up for an equaliser, then we didn't defend a basic cross into the box when we had the extra man.
So if PH told Devine to lay it up on a plate for Kayembe, and if he told Storey and Clarke to let the striker get between them, then yeah, I'd 100% agree with you.

LISTEN. He's got to go now, it's a results business, if that makes any sense. I'll just have a slurp of my water bottle. Happy Wednesday everyone.
I doubt it and the only reason is no other club would let a manager get away with this for so long.I’ve held off calling for sacking, but it looks completely untenable for Heckingbottom now.

Ever the optimist, I had hopes we might scrape into the playoffs this year ( thanks to the too 8 change).
Taking all emotion out of it, mathematically we would probably have to secure another 67 points from 40 games. Never gonna happen with this manager.
Then the realisation dawns, we’re not even gonna get enough points to stay up either. He needs to go ASAP. Every game we delay this decision makes that more certain.
It’s proper depressing that the best we can hope for already this season is survival.

You never loose or win a football match for a single reason nor do you concede a goal or score a goal for one reason. The problem is that the majority of decisions Hecky makes goes against his team and so we end up loosing an unacceptable majority of our games.Another bad decision,Hecky didn’t go and applaud the away fans for the trek! to Watford to support the team.I suggest he knew the defeat was on him and his tactical buffoonery with his subs and therefore he would be met by boos.A manager not brave enough to front up cannot lead this club onwards and upwards.Hecky out asap👋Fair enough. You're right in that what you can't necessarily do is say you scored or conceded a goal for one single reason. A goal might be the result of 10 different things: the manager's tactics, a substitution, a player's decision, an individual mistake, the opposition's quality, a deflection, a refereeing decision, etc.
That's why I think there's a bit of a post-hoc fallacy in the obsession with substitutions. If a manager makes a sub and we concede 10 minutes later, that doesn't automatically mean the sub caused us to concede. The fact that it happened afterwards isn't evidence that it was the cause. And the same applies when a sub is made and we score shortly afterwards. We don't necessarily say "brilliant substitution!" simply because the goal came after it.
Has he gone yet 🕰️
