Match Information (From BBC Sport)
TEAM NEWS
Jacob Mellis goes straight into the Barnsley squad following the midfielder's loan move from Chelsea.
Frank Nouble is also in contention after joining on loan from West Ham.
Preston are set to give a debut to midfielder Ian Ashbee after completing his move from Hull City in time for him to be available.
There is also expected to be a debut for forward Leon Clarke, who recently joined on loan from QPR, but Amine Linganzi remains sidelined.
MATCH PREVIEW
Barnsley have lost only one of their last six home matches and will not want to slip up against bottom side Preston, who are looking for their first win under Phil Brown.
Since taking over as North End boss, Brown has led his new team to 1-1 draws in both matches in charge and was denied a chance to get that all-important first victory when Saturday's match against Scunthorpe - the side immediately above them - was postponed.
Preston are three points adrift at the bottom and six from safety, but Brown remains convinced that they can turn their season around and avoid relegation to League One.
To do so they will need to rectify serious problems at both ends of the pitch, and Brown will be hoping that loan signing Leon Clarke can add some much-needed firepower up front.
