They'd be year above me then. Heatley doesn't ring any bells, but I did go to primary school with a Michael Archibald (from Inskip). Possibly the same lad?

Yeah, that's Archie, he was a great lad. Knew him from about age 15 and he was a great mate in our close friends group ever since (lived with him in a shared house in Leeds during Uni as well). He sadly passed away around this time of year in 2016.

Bloody hell that's a shame, I had no idea. He and I were amongst the minority of kids who used to take packed lunches to primary school rather than suffer the shite they churned out. We - about half a dozen of us - were shoehorned into a corner on a small table like outcasts. My main memory of Michael is the relentless ribbing he used to give me for always having jam butties.
Made me feel old that has.

Tell you what, for a brief introduction post the way this thread has gone off on a tangent is next level stuff 👏

You're the first new member in a while who knocked on the door and wiped their feet after being let in. Most think they can wander in and put their shoes up on the sofa so they get less of a welcome

Yeah, was and is very sad. I flew back for his memorial, which I'm glad I did.
Hahaha, love the story about the butties, sounds about right! 😂

I love a jam butty, my mrs thinks they are common.
