Hi Matt, I remember the Telford game very well (dark days!). Hopefully we are on the way up now we have a competent manager, as long as he is backed. We moan sometimes (sometimes a lot!) but the club is in much better nick nowadays than when the ground was falling down and we faced re election. Enjoy the ups and downs mate.

I've just joined and thought I'd introduce myself. I've used twitter for North End related chat for the last few years but become a bit jaded with that particular microcosm of negativity, so thought it was high time I signed up here.

Name's Matt, 48yrs old, so grew up watching the horror show of the eighties. My first ever game was the FA Cup tie Vs Telford United in about '84. My grandad took me on the old West Stand. "Let's go on the North End, they're playing a bunch of non-leaguers so we'll definitely see a few goals." We did indeed see a few goals, and that more or less set the scene for forty years of disappointment, frustration and ruined weekends.

I don't get on to nearly as many games as I'd like these days but still count myself an avid fan. Looking forward to getting involved in a bit of banter.

My name is Nobber. Do not believe anything anyone ever says about me as it is probably true.

Just a quick guide to the forum.

The emergency exits are at the rear of the forum, two in the centre and two at the front.

A life vest exists under your seat and please keep your seatbelt on at all times.

One of the mods is a complete tit, he lies, but hey we canna talk about that cause he throws hissys.

People to befriend, Sid Snot and Joan. They are both nice, in an elderly couple sort of way. Then if you want a conversation with a really really old geezer, there’s Raefil. We let him post on here between changes by the nurse at the care home. Reginald is pretty decent for a Taffy. Oh and Sepp Blatter looks good in any type of clothing, and I mean any clothing, (and we love him for it)

So overall there’s nothing else you need to know, other than we have a fire drill on the first Thursday of every month. We take a register although we actually don’t care if Raefil doesn’t respond.
