I agree with you about Dolan. I've been thinking about similar situations in the past, like you, I go back a long way, 1972 to be precise. I've only come up with, Alan Taylor, Ian Nolan and James Beattie as ones who got away, who went on to have good careers. Also, those players were younger than Dolan when released, 16 I think. Can you think of any I've missed?
Back to Dolan. I, personally think it's a bit early to make a judgement on him and berate the club. However, if it was up to me, I wouldn't have released him.
As for monitoring, Everton and Newcastle were monitoring Josh Earl, I bet they aren't now. That's not a criticism of Earl either.

The same mistakes are being repeatedly made by the club, one perfect example being the signing of Lindsay which is the exact re-run of when Collins, in a moment of Alan Irvine insanity, was signed for £750k from Wolves. As foretold by a Wolves fan he was truly woeful beyond belief!

As for the podcast? It analyses in more depth the problems at PNE. Unlike the local sycophantic media it doesn't hold back and it tells you've had has been going on behind the scenes which is something neither Sefton off the LP or BBC radio Lancs ever do.
