Because we rarely replace with better.

Robinson - Green
Hugill - Stockley

Our last 2 big sales with 2 piss poor replacements.

£15m in and £750k spent on replacing both.

So based on this, the plan is never to sell a player again then?

What does Heck actually rebuild with? His imagination?

Surely better to actually hold the club to account if a Stockley style player is the replacement?

Under different ownership though.

Not a fan of Craig but no one has any idea of what he will do with the money.

Under Trevor he refuse to budge on a few hundred grand for kieffer moore. Pathetic.!

Didn't we do exactly the same with Conrad Wallem last summer, leaving us with an Okkels?
bit different. People knew that kieffer moore would automatically improve us plus we had 8 million from the hugil sale.

Judging by the okkles transfer im not sure wallen would have been any good or not.

I'm not seeing the difference. Protracted negotiation over a few hundred grand, then sudden switch to cheaper, crappier target instead.

Same as it ever was.

If a BIG offer comes in sell and I’m saying 8/9million. Other than that I’d see if he can improve even further next season as like others have said trying to replace two striker in one summer is something PNE just don’t do but if we get a big fee for milly then that will make it a hell of a lot easier.

I think we have got to keep Milly another season. Replacing 2 strikers with Riis going too disruptive. What odds Cannon returns ?

But that wasn’t the point I was originally making.

Under Trevor we sold a player for 8 million and refused to pay for the asking price for another player.

We haven’t come close to selling a player near that fee in Craig time (Riis aside) so I can’t judge him on what he would do with the money.

The difference is we sold a player for a big fee under Trevor and haven’t yet under Craig.

. A two year extension and a good season next year is the difference between 5 million now and 10 million then.
it is more then likely he can earn more money elsewhere already and may have gone over our measly wage budget so doubt he would even entertain an extension. The power is all in his hands with only 2 years left, stay another year on his current deal score a few and leave next summer for a smaller fee as only 12 months left or just see out the 2 years score a few and take your pick of teams and take your increased signing on fee

Goal every 213 minutes in the league, slightly better than Riis with a goal every 226 minutes, but nothing special compared to other forwards
Absolutely fair in terms of stats but I feel his hold up play has improved immensely of late.

He’s the sort of player we need if we want to progress and it’s a good gamble to release if we can find similar for less money which is solely down to recruitment

After the Burnley win some on here were saying that we shouldn’t sell him for less than £8m to 10m now it is down to about £5m, why the reduction? With better service he would have scored more for us. I’d hold out for a minimum of £10m. When you see what some Championship clubs get for their players I just cannot comprehend given how little in comparison we get for ours especially now how much Militan has improved whilst he has been with us.
However much we sell him for 100% of the incoming money must be added to PH’s transfer pot. There must not be a situation as when we sold Hugill where our manager only received about 10% of the money to try and replace him.

We were probably still spending the last of "the Hugill/Cunningham money" when we were buying Riis - we make so little profit from transfers, it gets spread out across multiple windows, covering the years when we make next-to-no profit. Selling Hugill allowed us to buy Hughes, Ledson, Storey, Potts, Ripley, Stockley, etc., lots of players. I'm sure it'll be no different if we sell Osmajic.

Sorry to drag this thread up again,,,, a technical question for those that understand the rules!

Is there any time limit for charges to be brought on a player from EFL side,,,, as in Hecky gets sent off and has 20 days to respond to charges. Surely there has to be a point where the EFL are told you have 20 days to apply charges or they are dropped completely.
Anyone able to ask anyone on the EFL board? Not that we have an inside operative or anything! 😂

Its the FA that are responsible for the charges, not the EFL
