I'd put most of the blame on not signing a CB to be fair, meaning we've had to play our best RB centrally, because our supposedly most commanding CB is too shit to step foot on the pitch.

Just going off what hexkingbottom said so could be a load of rubbish - probably is.
They did score 30 set piece goals last season though so he might have meant that (excluding penalties) which is still pretty impressive.

In contrast we scored 14.

Agree with this mate. It’s a position we knew we needed to strengthen in for a long time and we’ve failed to do so. Also handed out the 3 contract renewals to the back lads too which was a poor decision.

When questioned about why we haven’t strengthened in this area, PH said that there was only so much we could do recruitment wise etc. But the defence should have been prioritised. You build from the back. Sign as many forward thinking players as you want too, but it’s not gonna matter when you’ve a defence like ours. We had an opportunity to refresh the defence with the 3 guys OOC. But we decided to give them new deals. This has come round to bite us firmly on the backside.

Just waiting for the inevitable news of him being relieved of his duties now.

To be fair I have no idea what any of the backroom staff do hence for all I know he could be a really good coach. I guess coaching staff will be reviewed on appointment of new manager.

The only reasonably fair way to assess them is to have a look at what they are responsible for and how that comes across in a game.
On that basis Murphy should have been gone yonks ago closely followed by the attacking and keeper coaches.
