Higher Walton was Staunch North End support, they hate them with a passion also.😀👍

Everyone I know from Higher Walton was a Nobber despite proximity to the 01254 dialling code just up the road in Gregson Lane.

Mill Tavern and then Farmers Arms (RIP), what a cracking night out that used to be for a village.

Live in Gregson Lane., on visits to The Village always ended in a cracking night out,the Mill Tavern/Farmers used to run coaches to away games, was an experience with some rum lads.🤣

Better still they used to have a framed team photo of Gregson Lane Swan FC on the wall from way back when George Jennis was the landlord featuring a certain pre-Bald Avenger in their ranks! 🤣

Picture as mentioned above, circa 1981/82! 🤣

I will have completed the 31 Day Dry January at midnight.

Lets hope that I can celebrate a PNE victory at midnight with a Guinness. Only snag is is that ASDA only had the 0.0% version in stock this morning - aarrgghh! Bought 4 cans, lets hope it tastes good.

Think I'm more nervous about how this Guinness is going to taste than the game itself.

COYW!!!

Its pish, do yourself a favour, nip out at half time and get some proper stuff, you deserve it. I have been dry most of Jan, had two lapses though, so cant brag. Tonight will be a test!!🍺🍺

Was my local. We had a bus laid on to go Rovers on Boxing Day I think in the 80s it was 75% full of North End.
The Rovers lot was all in their latter years.

When I left school 1961 I was an apprentice at FR Robinson's up Greggy Lane and one of my jobs was to cycle down to the Swan in the morning and drop off some dishes and at dinner time had to go and pick them up filled with piping hot hotpot and peddle like mad to get them back for the guys dinner.

Tried one can.

Too watery for myself.

2/10.
It looks like Guinness, it smells like Guinness, it leaves a nice brown sticky ring every time you put it down, it tastes like sweet brown sticky pish!! About ten years ago, a landlord told me that the Guinness in a tin frothed up by soundwaves battering the glass was the future!!
Well that didnt last long! And it wasnt a full pint ! the metric police had got involved which was what kicked me off in the first place!! I want a full pint in a glass with a pint line on it, filled at least level with the line before foam. When they tell you its the future, tell em you like tradition !!!!

Guy in the ticket office travelled up from Leicester yesterday morning to collect his tickets and told they'd been sent straight to Ewood. No idea what happened there but he wasn't best pleased.
