It's a bit flawed that apparently have to vote for 9, even though it says "up to 9". Feels like it forces a lot of random votes.

I've emailed the club as the process isn't consistent with what they said, so maybe if you haven't voted, wait until after tomorrow in case they're able to charge it. Although it would also be flawed to change the process midway through tbh. Not ideal either way.
Yes, I only wanted to vote for 3 (at a push) but would have to vote for 9. Like others, I’m doubtful as to how successful this will be but it wouldn’t have been hard to make the voting system reflect what the club outlined in their blurb.

I was the same….

I didn’t want to pick 9 ..

That approach devalued my selection because in the end I just clicked on names to get up to 9

This whole voting process seems a pretty token exercise to me.

Simply because there are 12 candidates - who have already been vetted and pre-selected by the club (to the extent one of them is already in the PSC steering group! Which is already represented in the FAN! Surely the club recognised them at the interview?)...

To be whittled down to... 9 seats!

All this palaver, including a botched voting system (they have now simply changed the instructions to say "place 9 votes"), just to cut 3 people?

Why not just pull 3 extra seats into the room for the meetings and let all 12 in?

Oh that's right - because it has to look like Ben's carefully-selected new chums were democratically elected.

Sorry, I´ve been busy last few days and couldn´t contribute to the thread earlier.

I´m up for election as Chris H. I´ve already voted for the regular contributors on here and hope some vote for me too. Best of luck to all.

I believe it´s important that we have as many reps from this forum on the FAN and I hope my experience will help us to get into some of the real underlying issues with PNE - the overall strategy, communication and finances. Now I know many people fear this will be a toothless body, but it is certainly worth a try to change things.

Please read my profile and vote for me if possible!

this is just a who can piss higher up the wall contest, when elected they will become "pawns" for BR and PR (if the koont is still here) to have boxes ticked, oh and I know one of the chosen few is a duplicitous twat (not who you think either).

good luck to one and all, your efforts will be noted and ignored, hooped socks is about as far as this will go.

Jesus.

He's right though.

Mine is also on there, Stew P.

Slightly frustrating censorship of this sentence:

"Like every fan, I’ve celebrated the highs and endured the odd Lowe at Deepdale"

... Got edited ☹️

Final call for anyone who is prepared to vote and hasn't already. Me (Stew P) and a few others (I think Dave M, Brian J and Chris H) have identified ourselves on here, but if you vote you have to pick 9 from 12.

In spite of the understandable skepticism from some of the posts about the effectiveness of the FAN, I'm keen to do this to see for myself. I know that the impact of any avenue for "fan voice" is ultimately determined by the willingness for "club ears" to listen and act.

This new avenue comes at a time when:
- a new national football regulator arrives, which will try to raise the importance of fan engagement and this sort of forum
- the club has a new non exec chair
- the owners have reasserted the aim of seeking new investment or ownership, which means that could be on the horizon in the next year or two

That might all add up to nothing. It might not. Time will tell.

In the meantime, I'd welcome
any votes 👍

why are you asking for support here, your massive post count these last 7 years shows us that you have NO fan engagement with this great site!!!!

This site is a way to raise awareness to people about the voting. I'd welcome any votes, as I'm sure everyone who has put themselves forward would.

I read the forum fairly regularly, even though I don't post. This thread invited any of the candidates to stick up their hand, so I did.

The key thing is to vote, whoever you vote for, because that way the vote count will be as representative as possible.

If you vote for me (Brian Jy), that'd be great, but first and foremost please vote.

In reality, people are just going to pad out their 9 votes with a bunch of random picks. Being alphabetically near the top of the list, perhaps you'll benefit from that?

But - to any individual fan on here reading this - if the whole FAN process seems to you to be a pointless box-ticking exercise, to give a veneer of democracy to a bunch of people already hand-picked by the club because they won't rock the boat, then the correct response is not to "vote" at all.

Let the stitch-up enjoy minimal validation - because aside from the 12 candidates themselves, to whom it no doubt matters a lot, it doesn't matter one iota to the rest of us which 9 get picked.

They're the rules we've been given so we've no choice but to follow them. @JK raised it as an issue but as far as I know, that came to nought.

Can’t help but think some people just want to have access to a meeting room at Euxton once a quarter and be asked if they’d like a tea or coffee.

Fan representation isn’t inherently a bad thing but I’m not sure what value this will add.
