It literally does, yes.
Sorry @Bobbage it really doesn't...you can literally train non stop for 2 days then play a game the 3rd. It's all about what's ahead..think they call it loadage nowadays...in my day it was fucking hill runs all day!. No player puts in the real effort until there's something on the line...like 3 points..
Agree it still feels nice to win. But it's nothing compared to a proper competitive game

It’s also more than nice to create a “winning culture”, that is apparent in all training sessions, friendly matches, league and cup matches.

Winning is not a tap you can turn on at your convenience.

So you have not listened to Heckys post match interview.
Yeah I did..the main thing I took from it was that he said about wanting to change shape to a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1. But with the players he has there's no point atm.
Everything else was a bit meh really.
Recruitment is gonna be key. Which I'm sure will happen

The winning culture seemed to work pretty well last season, after a very mediocre pre season, up until January when we were 4th. Then the hierarchy put PH under a bus or 2 with a very poor transfer window.

Liam Lindsay ?
Nope. For all his football flaws, he’s meant to be a decent bloke and good with the youth players. Storey is a crap footballer and a bit of an idiot based on the confrontations he’s got into on and off the pitch

If it’s false conditions in which to train, with the hot weather in Spain, it being nothing like the “conditions at home in December,” then why go to Spain? 🤷‍♂️
Hecky hasn't actually said it, but I reckon he will organise some additional training in October and November that will help with that.

What's ridiculous is that he's fallen back on the same old formation because we don't yet have the wingers. But what's wrong with trying something new out, surely these games are perfect for trying out a couple of different formations and tactics. It's more worthwhile than going back to the tried, tested and failed 532 of the past. I don't believe Hecky when he says he wants to move away from wing backs.

I dont agree that hes a crap footballer. If he was crap he wouldnt be playing at this level.

For me he is at his level, at PNE. A championship defender.

Ive no problem with him being a bit of an idiot, I 100% relate to that 🤣

Well he did in the first 2 games.

On the other hand, he'd be (rightly) called an idiot if, 2 weeks from now, he doesn't have enough match fit players to play the new formation in a competitive match and if he hadn't practised an alternative.

The key signings might include a prem loan player who gets delayed until later in the window. Or others might not materialise until the last minute, or later.

People do have a problem with him.

Just because people recognise the constraints within which he has to work doesn't mean they lack ambition. They also take account of the fact he walked the league with a talented Sheff Utd squad and therefore should be given the chance to work with a (hopefully, one day) talented PNE squad. For what it's worth, I like the way he's changed the mentality of a club that was on its uppers after Lowe left and the way he's brought in younger players with resale value. The Championship is a hard ,relentless league yet people seem to assume the manager is able to pick the team and tactics he wants for every game to play football like Brazil.

@Damp Cloth hope you enjoyed scrolling through previous posts.

Don’t really understand what point you are making but there you go. Not every one makes sense from time to time.

Maybe you should have picked one of the 100 posts I have made calling for hexkingbottom to be sacked rather than one from a year ago.

Yeah probably not, but that's not because they're not 'given a chance' as the previous poster said.

They're there, trying to impress, being given the opportunity to do so. If they're good enough to stand out, they will come through. Likelihood is, they won't be doing so here, but they've got the chance!
There not given a chance did you not witness the countless Smith and Potts cameos. The youth might not be good enough but with the clubs budget and resources we need to give them a proper chance, the academy is serving little purpose at the moment.

Throwing children who are nowhere near good enough out into competitive matches won't magically make them good enough.

Christ, it's like people don't think they have training or friendlies.
