The Garrison across the road was where my dad used to go with his mates from 12pm, after the pre-pub chip butty. We got there early enough, he got parked on the small car park. That was when I started going properly and remember it always being rammed and full of smoke the closer it got to kick off - then there was usual banter/songs across from the away fans at the Sumners.

Perfect as it was only a 5 minute walk up the road and on to the old Pavilion where my dad would ‘try’ and stand with the aid of the railings. I was always sat on the wall at the front - great spot as you had a great view of the fans abusing the manager and vice-versa.
