Matchday Thread PNE v Ipswich - 03/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

I think hes a 100% football man Billy. Blunt but an open book. Which is why he is unemployable, the slimey corporate folks in charge of the game are the antithesis of this, money = bullshit.

Just checked he hasn't, it's a decade ago when he last managed. Not for me, that's just my opinion but then I dont make those decisions.
Bit of a digression but I wasn't for Billy getting the job and neither were most of the fans, same with Moyesie, how wrong most of us were. I'm careful since then not to fill in too many gaps when it comes to these issues.
Doesn’t need the money. Glad to see him at Deepdale . No animosity on his side obvs. I’d have him back tomorrow. Maybe the rumours are true.

Good point. But McKenna probably wanted them to play the short faff. Maybe his plan. Funny when it cocks up though
It's obviously worked for them the majority of the time this season, given their lofty position. Not yesterday though.🤣
2nd half of the season is always harder for new entities like Ipswich. Teams eventually work out what their Achilles is. I reckon the cats out the bag for the tractors.

If they are the I hope him and Peter have had a few dates to establish some pre nuptials, otherwise it's likely to be a fling rather than a marriage made in heaven.

I’ve just seen the handling a back pass decision. As I thought, it’s clear as day and utter incompetence from the referee. Would have been fun to see an indirect free kick from 6 yards as well!

Having said that, the referee couldn’t even count out a wall properly. Their free kick in the first half was a yard or so outside the area and almost central. He had the wall level with the penalty spot!

I'm not sure if it's even relevant as I've not seen the footage but i'm not clear on the law on this. Is it simply 'handling' or does the keeper have to have the ball under control with his hands?

Can’t believe Mads didn’t get booked for arguing, seemed like he took forever to go off. But should he have had a pen?

It was a backpass that the keeper handled so should have been an indirect free kick. I half expected the ref to give him a card for protesting, I’m sure he knew Mads was right.

I do love a mixed metaphor. Good for the cats. But what about the farmer's sheep and goats.

Ive only seen highlights so can’t comment too much, but bloody hell all of our goals has a significant sprinkling of luck to them, and Riis was indeed offside by the looks of it. Not complaining though, happy days!

And Blackburn/pool also lost in tremendously shit ways

Glorious.
